You may be able to get out of your contract if your on a shared plan and get a discount.

Sprint applies the discount to your first line. Currently, a shared plan has a base price and the second line is free.

They are changing this. If your shared plan is currently 129.99 like mine is the new main line will be 110.00 and the once free line will be 19.99..

While the price stays the same. this is a change in the contract on their end.

But it gets worse.

I get a 25% discount. I use to get this discount off the 129.99.. Now I only get it on the 110.00. Causing my bill to go up.

Under the terms of sprints agreement, this gives you 30 days from the date you get the bill with the new billing amounts to cancel with out a ETF.

here is the text of the escape caluse. Most (almost all) reps are clueless and will tell you otherwise. Your best option it to dial *2 and select that you want to cancel. The Retention department seems to know about how this works.

Our Right To Change The Agreement & Your Related Rights We may change any part of the Agreement at any time, including, but not limited to, rates, charges, how we calculate charges, discounts, coverage, technologies used to provide services, or your terms of Service. We will provide you notice of material changes?and we may provide you notice of non-material changes?in a manner consistent with this Agreement (see "Providing Notice To Each Other Under The Agreement" section). If a change we make to the Agreement is material and has a material adverse effect on Services under your Term Commitment, you may terminate each line of Service materially affected without incurring an Early Termination Fee only if you: (a) call us within 30 days after the effective date of the change; and (b) specifically advise us that you wish to cancel Services because of a material change to the Agreement that we have made. If you do not cancel Service within 30 days of the change, an Early Termination Fee will apply if you terminate Services before the end of any applicable Term Commitment.

this should only be for new contracts. so your bill should stay the same till your current contract is up for renewal. if not a call to the retention dept. can do wonders. sprint is very courteous about keeping their GOOD customers.

I have been a sprint customer for 14 years. I have over 5 lines. All have 8-12 months left on the contract. The notice was included in my bill.

They are making this change for all contracted shared plans.

I want to drop some lines because I don't use 1 of the phones and 2 are with family members that I always worry about getting their cut of the bill from.

Check your online bill. That is where I found mine. It's all over the internet now. Sprint has to notify you of the change. But they don't have to hit you over the head with it if you know what I mean. It's buried in the bill.

On my PDF bill from their web site the notice on page one says.

Sprint is making changes to its policies.
Please see the "Sprint News and
Notices" box on page 2, the back of
this page, for details.

On page 2 it says.

Discount Policy Change Notice
Effective your February bill cycle, Family and
Business Share monthly plan charges will be
billed differently. Discounts will only apply to
the monthly recurring charge of the primary
line. Line 2 will be billed at the applicable
Add-a-Phone rate and will not be discount
eligible

Then there is their agreements terms that spell out why I got this notice.

Its more of a fight if you do not have a discount. However, it's still winnable from what i have read online.
