I picked up a load from a regular customer (customer is actually a personal friend) when i picked up the load,he asked if i could return the next day to take another (better) load.I said i would be there. The customer called my company and advised dispatch of the issue.So i delivered the first load,then dead headed back to the customer for the second load only to find out that the company had given the load to another truck. I don't really have an issue with the load going to another truck (i really didn't want all those dead head miles anyway,this was a favor to the customer) my issue is that my company was well aware that i was heading back for the load,they were also aware that they had given the load away,...........I think they should have informed me of this so i could set up in a better area to get a load and not have wasted all that fuel.
What do all of you think?

P.S. this all just happened today,i went a few round with dispatch and even recieved a call from some higher ups in the company i am leased to. They claim to have known nothing about any special driver request (if this is the case i still believe they should have let me know). My friend thew customer was gone from work by the time i gotten there,and i was in such a bad mood i decided not to call him at home regarding work issues.I'll be in touch with him first thing in the morning to iron this out.I'm not upset with him in any way,I just want to know if my company is lying to me about the whole thing. In my eyes i got screwed by them (my company) not telling me the load was alrady covered,I just want to know if they are now lying to me on top of that.
What do all of you think?
