Hard hats and safety glasses

We finally gave in and bought new safety glasses and hard hats today! I honestly didn't think we would use them often enough to carry them in the truck. Our safety glasses have been in the tool box and have gotten so scratched and we have never used them. But we have found recently that many of the areas where we pick up or deliver are requiring us to wear these safety items. They are always happy to let us borrow some but I have not been comfortable wearing a hat and safety glasses (right against my face) that other people have been wearing and sweating in!!

We bought some of each at a Home Depot. I told the salesman that I really needed a pink hard hat but he just couldn't help me on that. *grin* Now the next problem is finding a place for these items so they will be easy to get to when we arrive at a place where we need them. Any ideas???? india

Depends on what your truck is like for storage, and where you put whatever items. I have a century, and my stuff goes in the top cubbyhole in the cab. I tend not to use safety glasses, as I wear regular glasses. The two just don't fit at the same time. If you're worried about scratches, I would get a small cloth bag to put them in. Then put them somewhere that heavy items won't get tossed around on them... like an uncluttered sidebox. A good place would be inside a cloth bag, inside your hardhat, with rags around it for packing. Then you could put the hat wherever it fits.

Don't forget your orange or yellow safety vest. Wrap the glasses in an old dish towel, then wrap all that in the vest, then stuff all that in the hard hat. Put the hard hat wherever you can find space. If you were in a van you would probably have to wear all of it, all the time.

We have had the same trouble India with our safety equipment as we use it so seldom. I keep hoping FedEx would do something with a Purple hard hat as a safety award!! No luck yet.

I cannot see FedEx Custom Critical on that nice purple hard hat!

So the point of my post was if it was a FedEx Custom Critical award the Hard Hat would be really cool!

I have nice safety glasses that were given to me during a tour of the Toyota Georgetown plant. I may need a hardhat to protect me though if I don't post enough in this forum. :+
