Yep, a 20 would do just fine. I am NOT concerned with wall damage, just a corpse. I can always sue the scuzes family or the parole board that released the bum. I highly doubt that I would EVER run into a "First Timer" inside my home. The scum that robbed my home a few years back had been at it for quite a while. I went to the sentencing phase to speak. He was NOT given enough, 3-5 years. It is a REAL shame that the judge did NOT just give him to me. It would have saved the State a LOT of money!!

3-5 because it was property crime and didn't hurt anyone(this is what the state says). Our state don't even want to send these small time offender to prison. If that was in wayne county the sentence would be probation.

Probation? You mean on the street where I could get at him? :D They are a BIT tougher down here in Monroe CO. BUT NOT tough enough. Stealing GUNS should be a MUCH higher sentence, like 5 years PER gun IF they are recovered (mine were) and 10 years PER GUN IF they are NOT recovered. Those years would be in ADDITION to the the original 3-5 he got. NO PROBATION on the gun theft years. :D Hey 60MPH Do keep in mind that your shotgun will be ILLEGAL IF they pass that Gun Law that Obama and Co. wants. NO PISTOL grips on shotguns. Can you immagine? How just plain stupid. Well, they are Dumb-O-Crats!!! Stupid is in their genes!!

Yep, but not all rounds will penetrate a wall. There are some personal protection rounds that won't. I have some REALLY good Hornaday Personal protection rounds for my wife and mine .357's. They are hollow points, I would NOT want to face one. I still use the shotgun for in home work.

The hollow points are more expensive, but if your worried about walls and such they are the way to go

The wall is NOT my concern. Hitting someone outside is. They are expensive but I will likely NEVER have to use them. I don't carry all that often and would use the shotgun in the house. Birdshot won't pass through a wall either.

Yep you are correct if O'bummer and his goons gets there way:mad:. I do have the regular no pistol grip butt stock to. And I am very proficient with it also.:D so if it gets passed "some how" I will still be able to protect myself in my own home:rolleyes:

OH NO!! Taking off the grip will NOT solve the problem. Keep in mind that Mr. Holder wants to include ANY semi-auto that is capable of having a pistol grip, even if you DO NOT have on on it!! These guys are wierd. They HAVE to go!!

In my humble home, meager in size as it is, if someone were gonna shoot me, I would rather be shot with a 38 than a 12 gauge with ANY birdshot! The 38 might actually miss a vital organ. And you could prob control the bleeding. Not so with the 12!

Measure the avg distance in your home that you would be shooting, buy a couple of watermelons, and head to the range with both guns. I'm gonna say prob 8-10 feet. See what you think. Imo, the scatter gun does way more damage. And very rarely would it pen to the os of the home. You can get frangible ammo for rifles and handguns that is engineered to not penetrate walls. I have a Mossberg 500a breach gun beside my bed. I keep it loaded but not one in the chamber. I agree that racking the slide will prob solve the prob unless the perp was high or intoxicated.

On a side note. Educate the entire family on gun safety. My daughter shot my 38 when she was 6. With my help of course. I wanted her to experience it w me there and feel the power and know it's not a toy. She loves shooting her Trifecta every chance she gets and is very safe. Education, IMO, should be the first step in gun safety.
