Grenade launchers for police?

I can see donating .45 pistols from the military to police organizations, perhaps a sniper rifle for the SWAT team and I could even go with an armored vehicle to carry the SWAT team into a situation like the Los Angeles bank robbery but "rifles" which are probably full auto and especially grenade launchers? What do police need with grenade launchers?

Can Someone Explain Why the Utah Police Need Grenade Launchers?

Good question ? One thing I see is a hand out from the federals to the locals . Is this really some thing for free ?

You're right. They probably can make tear gas grenades to fit that if they don't already. No, it isn't free. We all paid for it in taxes.

I don't mind the Government handing out Grenade Launchers to Law Abiding Law Enforcement Centers and Personnel that have Sworn to Protect and Enforce the Laws of not only it's Local Municipalities / Cities / Townships / Etc....but also the Laws of The Country as a Whole.

Problem I have is when this Administration.....IE......Eric Holder in general......Obawas TOP Law Enforcement Beeeotch.......starts handing out Automatic Assault Weapons to a whole other Country who then Hands them out to their Drug Cartels who in turn uses them to MURDER Law Enforcers here in America that are trying to keep our Borders safe............

There is one reason to militarize local and state police forces, and they've been doing it for a few years now. Some have armored vehicles.

Clue, external threats would have to come by sea, or air. Only one conclusion...

I'll chime in.....

A lot of less-than-lethal (or "less-lethal" in criminal justice speak) rounds are designed around the 40 mm platform. Bean bag rounds (although also available in a much smaller 12-gauge bag/round), pepper balls, pepper powder, and marking powder, in addition to stun and smoke grenades are available in 40 mm rounds.

They are mostly used in civil disobedience/ riot control, or to augment corrections staff to quell prison uprisings.

Over 17 trillion in debt and climbing. What happens when the free stuff runs out?
Just a thought to ponder.

JMHO....but it seems a number of things could trigger national unrest. They sure seem to be preparing for it. Money collapse would bring a huge set of bad circumstances to the table. And that's just one thing.

What if someone decides on their own.....it's time to do something about flash mobs? A natural disaster perhaps?

With all the goings on in the past 10-15 years, one almost gets the feeling it wouldn't take much. Don't advocate, nor would I participate, but it could get ugly depending on the event.
