Gop caves again

Read that there's a new proposal afoot that would cut $500 billion from the budget/deficit, and increase taxes by $1 trillion. So peanuts in cuts, essentially nothing, asking with a tax increase. The demon-crats get what they want in exchange for essentially nothing.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Same old spineless jellyfish in the GOP.

We're getting close to the deadline. One of these transvestites (that was supposed to be travesties but android apparently never heard of that word) is eventually going to stick to the wall. And like usual, we'll take it in the shorts.

it will never make it through the house. I am more worried about the McConnel plan, that piece of junk has a shot. They already played their hand so obama just has to veto what he doesn't like or have the senate stop them and wait for them to pass that junk pile.

the house GOP voted on and passed a plan to cut 6 trillion over the next ten years. But yeah your right they caved again.

let the democrat controlled senate stop it from passing, let Obama veto it if it passes the senate. we dont reach a deal the checks dont go out out to the people that need it the most the republicans are the only ones who can say hey we did our jobs.the democrats are the ones who said NO!!

you are saying they caved on a plan that some 6 3 of each are drawing up since when does 3 make up a majority of 100's:confused:

The checks will go out there is enough tax money collected each month for that stuff. The blame will be turned right back on the republicans. The dems are much better at winning the message than the republicans and with the press will make sure who wins the the public opinion game.

There's a situation in chess called stymied, and that's where congress is right now with these debt ceiling talks. The best the GOP can hope for is to hold their ground to keep any new taxes from being implemented. They don't have control of the Senate, so the Democrats will stop anything they send that requires cuts in spending. Considering we have a dedicated liberal fanatic in the White House, it's becoming apparent that the McConnell plan is the best they're going to get. Hopefully, they can structure this deal so that it gives Obama enough rope to hang himself with his additional spending proposals and deficit increases. Plans like ObamaCare can be defunded or repealed by the next President and congress. Contrary to what the MSM is telling us, the GOP is not looking that bad during this bargaining process. The only way they lose face is by caving in to tax increases.

Passing the McConnell travesty isn't the way to go, just because you can't see how you can get a better deal passed. If you can't get a good deal passed, you pass nothing. Anything less than $1.5 trillion in cuts THIS BUDGET is unacceptable.

so why new taxes when there are already trillions of dollars in off shore bank accounts. re-write the tax laws making this stuff illegal. pass a 10% flat tax and put the accountants out of work.

either that or raise the tax figure to say 57% and fund everything. make service to country for 2 years mandatory either military or some vista like program. works in denmark.
