To my suprise in MA the little town of Chicopee MA, need a layover spot restaurant makes all of its own food in other words they do not buy pre-made. I was pleasantly suprised and welcomed back for dinner, although I only had breakfest and was dispatched before dinner time. One of the cleanest truck stops I have found (inside) food fairly priced very cheap for MA standards staff great no rookie I dont give a crap attitude in there so tip well.

Hey Broompilot,

What's the name of the place, and the location? Street or exit?

Thanks,

There is a NEW Petro Truck Stop on I90E exit 41 on the New York Thruway. It's 3 months old, very clean, very friendly service, a DR. and chiropractor on site, a barber shop, cb shop, a lounge with computers and free internet access, a large game room, VERY CLEAN SHOWERS with "Full Sized Towels, & a 5 bay shop. If, and I emphasize IF, I ever come back to NY, this will be my stopping spot. I highly recommend this Petro.

In Mass. try I 84 Exit 1, Sturbridge Isle Truck Stop. Country club atmosphere and good food. Fuel is too pricy, but we are talking New England. This one is a winner, check it out.

That Chicopee stop was decent 10 years ago.Always the same.If you walk around to the rear of the building there have been some excellent food establishments in that building as well.Unfortunately none have made it there.A few years ago there was a good oriental buffet, they offered sea food as well as crab legs. They didn't make it but were great while they lasted..so-it-goes

I'm not sure about the one in Nashua as it's been close to 8 years since I was there.

I've been to the 50's theme truckstop in Chicopee and the waitress there about freaked us out!!! She was WAYYYYYY too friendly! Food in my opinion was ok, but it's good as far as Mass goes. No parking fee helps too.

We stopped at the Chicopee truckstop last night, once again. I know many like their 50's restaurant, but I feel like being contrary LOL. The food wasn't bad at all, but our waitress didn't seem like she wanted to wait.

First, I had to mention about the salad that came with my meal. Then my co-driver didn't get the bacon with his cheeseburger. And she gave him that "look" when he mentioned it. I told him not to eat it. Finally, she never offered to refill his coffee. She didn't earn the small tip I gave her.

The rest of the truckstop seems ok. We'll probably go there again as it's convenient.
