It all depends, how much for the air port runs? I like to keep busy and if it is the same money but steady work, the air port runs would be ok. but i also like the idea of traveling where i am needed and make a decent living,er... money.

i like local work and have a sprinter on with egl
we do 90 percent local 10 percent out of town
just came back from lynchburg va out and back round trip 410 miles
runnning to airport and then to delivier and back
going in circles amazing how many miles in day running local you do
on sprinter put rollers in floor make taking the loads in out easier
and carry heavier loads to
love my roller floor

I would think that anyone who has steady work and can keep you loaded would be a good first choice. I bought a Sprinter two weeks ago and have been loaded two days out of the last 12 days. Do your research and get hooked up with a company that can keep you busy.

Not being a Van Driver I cannot comment on the business end. Observation of Van Drivers vs Straight truck. Van seems very hard to live out of for weeks at a time.

If your not actually working than what does one do? You need to consider that. Ideling a Van with todays fuel prices waiting two days possibly longer could eat your profits away.

The only way I can tollerate it out there is that my unit is very user friendly for this industry. I can get the proper rest plus be entertained with many built in luxuries. At first it is adventurious but after awhile the Novelty wears off. I still like it but it is very hard out there when you are gone for weeks on end.

Keep asking more questions.

If the van is your own, that's in your favor.
If you have a choice over guaranteed runs and rolling the dice...
There are a lot of topics in the forum you should read before you begin.
If you can't idle your van you really don't want very long layovers. And it's almost winter.
Broom pilot's right. Read, read, read.
