Glenn Beck Goes 'Over the Line' by Mocking Malia

Stay classy Glenn, stay classy. What an a** clown this man truly is(or is it rodeo clown?). I was listening this morning when this moron was doing his "bit" and could not believe it. With all his crying about Palin's kids he resorts to this type of behavior, and to believe there are people in this forum that support this douch*bag. If this idiot would've never got into the Letterman, Palin thing I wouldn't even care but what a blatant showing of hypocrisy.

He mimics her question on his radio show today.

Glenn Beck spent a good amount of time on his radio show today mimicking and mocking Malia Obama over her "Daddy, did you plug the hole yet" question, reports Media Matters. (President Obama relayed it to the public yesterday during his Gulf press conference.) At one point, Beck uses his Malia voice to ask, "Why do you hate black people so much," and at another he says, "That’s the level of their education, that they’re coming to—they’re coming to daddy and saying, ‘Daddy, did you plug the hole yet?’”

Way out of bounds, writes Jon Bershad at Mediaite. (The site also has the audio clip.) Obama may well deserve a ribbing over his performance, but not his 11-year-old daughter. Beck "clearly stepped over the line when he began insulting and denigrating" Malia. "Considering how gung ho Beck’s been recently about protecting politicians' home life, you'd think he'd know better."

Transcripts from yesterdays show with Palin taken straight from Becks webpage. Unbelievable, how can anyone take this child seriously?

Link: Glenn Beck - Current Events & Politics - Glenn Beck: Palin's big announcement...

GLENN: I have to tell you, though, Sarah, that I mean, here's a guy doing a book on your family that is now able to look into Piper's bedroom. You know he's — the only reason, I mean, he's a voyeur. The only reason why he moved there is to be either a peeping Tom and watch your family over the fence or be, watch the comings and goings of your family. I mean, I have to tell you, there is a difference between fighting a battle and saying, you know, look, I disagree with you and we'll be on the battlefield of ideas. This is harassment. This is stalking and harassment. There's a difference. Leave my family, leave people's families alone.

SARAH PALIN: Well —

GLENN: I mean, I don't think I've ever — I made this when it was, when it was Bill Clinton. You don't go after Chelsea Clinton.

SARAH PALIN: Right.

GLENN: You don't talk about the Bush kids. Now, the minute they get into politics, that's a different story. You leave the families alone. We've never done anything but protect the families and question why the White House would bring their children into political debate. Leave the families alone.

SARAH PALIN: Right. Yeah, a very classless thing that Random House is doing. And if I — you know, if I find out that Random House is the one actually renting this place for their author to be able to sit here over our shoulder for the next five or six months, that will be pretty disturbing, too, but a classless thing that they are doing because let me tell you something practical that happens in Alaska. We don't have air conditioning. None of our houses have ever had air conditioning and so you leave your windows open all summer long. It's the only way to keep cool in the midnight sun because the sun essentially doesn't set for many of the days in the summer, leaving the windows wide open. Well, now, things like that, that's got to change because the guy's sitting right there. We're not going to let them overhear children's conversations or anything else. So practically speaking, yeah, a real pain in the butt and a real, a real inconvenient and disturbing thing. But again —

PAT: And another, and another thing to make you spend money. How much is the fence costing you?

SARAH PALIN: I know. We'll have to barter that with some of the guys, we'll take them moose hunting or something. Todd will take them on snow machine tours for labor.

GLENN: I've got to tell you, and I mean this sincerely. I don't wish anybody harm and, you know, I — you know, that's just not the way you solve things. But I have to tell you I think, you know, the president is saying we should give medals to the soldiers that, you know, show restraint and not shoot people? Let me tell you something. I think, I think Todd deserves that first medal on why he doesn't go over there and punch that guy in the face. I mean, that is not the way to handle things but as a man and you are screwing with my wife and my children, it would take everything in me not to do that.

SARAH PALIN: Well, amen, yeah. I mean, Todd, he's got to bite his tongue and he's got to be restrained because that's —

I'll be interested to hear if Palin has anything to say about Beck and his mocking of the Presidents kids. Beck will be his own undoing, what a complete buffoon this man is.

Glenn Beck demonstrates on a daily basis what kind of A-hole he is. That is what you get when an untreated drunk is allowed to spew his uneducated, non sensical opinions on the air. That's not even mentioning the fact he's a Mormon and believes Jesus is waiting on some other planet til he comes back here to to take us to the "Celestial" Kingdom. The fact that anyone could possibly defend this man's actions today, or any other day, shows the level of, or lack there of, intelligence of many in the soapbox...

Mormons can believe what they want. That is their right under our constitution. Beck is Beck, don't like him, don't listen. I don't. His ratings will fall, he will go away. That simple. Too bad we cannot just "turn off" the Obama show the same way. He is just as stupid, vile and foolish as Beck, in his own way of course. Beck is smarter in one way, for what it is worth, he most likely makes more that King Putz the 1st does!

The hypocrisy of liberals is the gift that keeps on giving. Never a peep when the press attacked the Bush daughters, and when Sarah Palin's kids were national fodder for crude Letterman jokes, smarmy comments, and trashy tabloid covers. The rationalization was when politicians bring their kids into the political scene they become fair game. There have been several talksters ridiculing Obama's less than credible claim that his 11 year-old was asking him if "they had plugged the hole yet". I didn't hear the Beck commentary, but the others I did hear were mocking Barack Hussein Obama for coming up with such a preposterous assertion. Obama is the one who used his daughter as a prop to score political points.

"That is what you get when an untreated drunk is allowed to spew his uneducated, non sensical opinions on the air. That's not even mentioning the fact he's a Mormon and believes Jesus is waiting on some other planet til he comes back here to to take us to the "Celestial" Kingdom."

Beck admits almost daily that he's a recovering alcholic. I seriously doubt that any of us know the details of his treatment. To claim he is "untreated" is - to put it mildly - a gratuitous assertion. The bigoted statement that implies he is inferior due to being a Mormon is hardly worth mentioning, except to say that it tells us something about the mindset of its source. How amusing it is when these liberals try to label conservatives as messengers of hate and intolerance.

Excellent post Pilgrim. The point was that Obama was using his daughter as a prop. NOT that people were mocking his daughter.

You're kidding, right? Never a peep? The fact that children of politicians were all people could talk about, how they should be off limits, especially the ones who are minors. You don't remember any of that? Not even the comments you yourself made here on EO about it? Really?

You left out the sentence preceding the quote from my post.

It should be clear that the following sentence which you quoted was addressed to liberals in general. I suppose I should have quoted Letzrock in my post to make it more succinct. But to claim that I'm denying memory of the discussions that went on inside this forum is a bit of a stretch.

Since you brought it up, maybe you can refresh our memories about all the sympathetic statements from our liberal friends regarding media attacks on the Bush and Palin daughters. I gave it a couple tries on the EO search engine but I'm just not very good with that.

The amazing thing about radios and televisions is that you can always change the station or channel. If you don't want to enjoy Glenn Beck for the 15 hours he is on radio, or 5 hours he is on television weekly, change the station or channel. We are a free (so far) nation, and you can choose to listen to the great successful liberal radio star.... oh wait, there isn't a successful liberal radio program. My bad! Guess you better just listen to music!

broad-minded - inclined to respect views and beliefs that differ from your own.
narrow-minded - lacking tolerance or flexibility or breadth of view.

I am so glad that your signature covers your definition of broad minded and narrow minded! You have obviously demonstrated your respect of views and beliefs that differ from your own!

isn't Beck the one that says all you have to do is use their own words to prove who they really are?

This really is another non-issue over a politician's kids. Unlike Letterman/Palin situation, Obama's kids are political tools and because Obama and his wife use them as such they are open game.

I think the kid thing is a bit over the top anyway. Beck has had his share of threats and this may be why he is a bit sensitive with Palin's kids. But the thing is that if the parent is so incline to call foul every time the kids are brought into something, then as someone told beck maybe he should have rethought his entire career and instead of being in the spotlight with your kids, should have been a use car salesman or something else. The same goes for Obama, his choices are his and his families, and he knows what the risks are dragging kinds into politics, the media doesn't care.

I'm not sure exactly which part of my post you are refering to, but I can assure you that the Mormon comments are not my feelings, but are actually part of Mormon teachings.

Not that it matters, and I don't have any idea what your definition of a "successful" radio personality is, but there are plenty of liberal talk show hosts out there, each carrying their own level of success. Because you never heard of them means nothing....Oh yeah, and the only folks I ever personally hear say "my bad" are dumb hillbillies, so I'll stereotype and consider the source....

Let's see about tolerant of others:
Glenn Beck demonstrates on a daily basis what kind of A-hole he is. That is what you get when an untreated drunk is allowed to spew his uneducated, non sensical opinions on the air.

Freedom of speech?
allowed to spew his uneducated, non sensical opinions on the air.

And religous tolerance:

And respecting others opinions:

Yes, I would say that you are definately open minded!
