Getting the most out of fueling up gasoline CVs

After many failures in adjusting to a new life in a CV I turn to this forum for some input.
I have never had an issue with fuel cards or rewards cards like I now have since going to a CV from a straight truck (diesel to gas).

T-Chek cards are designed for the big trucks and are not convenient for purchasing gasoline for a CV. What are the other CVs out there doing for gas purchases? Are you cashing out your advances and paying cash? Or is there something I'm missing here? It has taken as long as 40 minutes to pay for fuel at Loves with my T-Chek card and most TAs and Petros just don't take them! Pilot and Flippin Js have been the quickest so far but still can't let you pay at the pump.

There is nothing expeditious about fueling with a T-Chek card. So?? What are you doing? Thanks

I use my bank card. I use it as a credit card, gas purchases are reasonably fast that way. Since I can see my account online, I can be right on top of anything fishy if something bad happens.

About the "Loyalty cards"--- the only one I have that's worth anything is the Speedway card. Pilot/Flying J offered me the "Preferred Customer" card which is good for every 10th cup of coffee free and is also good for scraping frost from your mirrors, Loves and TA/Petro don't offer anything to gasoline-powered vans that I'm aware of.

Thanks for the input on the subject! Looks like I will be headed toward debit card use for fuel which is ironic since the T-Chek card is nothing more than a debit card.

But wouldn't you think that if Walmart could figure this out... so could T-Chek?

You need to get the professional driver card from pilot then you get a half of a shower for every 14 gal plus all the coffee club stuff.

You mentioned the problem with T-Chek in the opening post. It's geared towards big trucks, not cargo vans. Most truck-stop related trade is geared towards big trucks, they sell gasoline and food to us so they won't miss out entirely on our trade but--- in their eyes we're not professional drivers because we don't drive 40-ton rigs, so we don't get many breaks.

I stand by what I said--- the only "Loyalty Card" that's worth a hoot is the Speedway card. Speedway is a gas station chain that only recently started to branch out into the truck-stop business in any big way. As far as the big truck stops go, only Pilot/Flying J even offers cards to gasoline vans, and at that so butchered in benefits that coffee and scraping frost is about it for usefulness. Showers aren't that expensive if you buy one, I find out.

I use the Speedway card alot too when in them states..even tho I am diesel....the level of cetane is higher hence better MPG's and the price is lower and then there are them points...I get a $25.00 gift card about every 3-4 months....

Don't know where your getting your info from... the pfj card is the easiest to use ..
$10.00 per shower adds up...you must be making the big bucks..

The professional card that pilot/fj offers would be the best bet for cv drivers.

Sad, but true. That's why I've decided to go back straight, eventhough I have to worry about logging and scale houses. The perks are better going straight.

Make sense:) 2 showers a week ~8 showers a month~24 showers every 3 months. Therefore shower rewards from pfj would be worth about $ 240. Showerwise, this would make pfj the best rewards for your money.
Of course, if you don't take showers, please ignore this input.

$12 per shower, although I haven't had to pay for one in months. I usually have 1 or 2 I don't use each week. And that's after showering every day.

T/A,Petro has an Expediter's Card that Vanner's can get,I think you have to call there customer service to get it. They mail it to you. It is even advertised on this site. As vanner's have told you,you have the wrong card, get the Pro driver card and you will get shower credit's there, plus fee free cash advance with a certain amount of gas purchase. That's Pilot flying J.http://www.ultraonerewards.com/ultraone-expediter Here is link for T/A Expediter Card.
