only place ive ha trouble with refill is AR. their law makes them fill the whole script,so if you have script for 90 days, they have to fill the 90 days

why do you have trouble understanding that when there are drivers out there taking meds for number of health reasons for which at anytime if they dont take them something serious could happen when they were driving or taken cold meds
when i took my med it was only after i did my 10 hours of driving or if we were on a layover

i think you should be more worried about the drivers out there who i seen walking back to their trucks with a 12 pack or that idiot out in wis who messed with his mp3 player a rolled his truck carrying cow guts and bones

Maybe this this thread answers the other thread:+

Married teams and sharing trk responsiblites
I am not married nor do i drive team, however i have a team in a truck and am concerned about them. They run the business like a household and seem to...

Are there three personalities in that truck needing Meds?:)

Someone with a cold taking Nyquil isn't the issue here. Perscription meds need to be taken on a regular schedual without regard to logbooks or layovers. Narcotic pain medication is a legitimate concern. And, if a guys on his 34 hour reset and wants to have a couple of beers, whats wrong with that?

Yes! ya nailed it:7 I am trying to stay out of there personal affairs, however there personal choices [getting meds from the state for free] and it taking 3-4 days once they get home is enough to sign me up for a prozac diet plan.I don't have a problem with them coming home once a month or more, they live in a good freight area.In my opinon they don't use the time wisely for one example getting there meds,if they don't have there ducks in order it can take 5days or so and then they get called about a good load [out of service they still will call] and they take it cause they need the money and they don't have the meds,or the dog needs shots or whatever you get the idea.I have to look at the fact they are productive, maintain the trk,and run hard.I pay the fuel so 1000 mile dh cause they need to be home to get whatever, cuts into the profit margin.I have a house,a teenage daughter,a serious girlfriend 700 miles from me a rental house i have to manage, and i drive expedite.I am good at time management and i know what they need to do but it's really not my place cause it's not just my trk it goes into there personal choices and how they choose to live.If they ask me i would help them, they don't ask so it's not my place.I have limits,if there system is not worth the money they make me,i will tell them that and they will change or drive for someone else.I am not at that point,so i hope for the best and plan for the worest.

Hi
Since your paying the fuel I think you should just lay down some ground rules.I agree with RichM though what is wrong with 3 or 4 days off after 3 weeks out.It sounds like you have found a good team that makes you money and takes care of the truck and if they leave or you fire them the next team might not be as good.If I was in your shoes I would sit down with them and discuss the situation.Good communications go along way in resolving problems.Just my humble opinion.Good Luck posted by bryan

well first off the stuff i was taking was as needed for pain
wasnt on no set schedule on when i could take it
but if i knew i was to drive at a certain time i knew not to take it
that is why i am no longer over the road cause the pain in my back got to the point of me not able to do my job 100 percent

but thats not the reason of this post if i should be taking pain meds or not
was just saying certain types of meds is harder to get them transferred out of state

so before ya critize me again then maybe you should critize drivers who are on blood pressure meds, heart meds, insulin, cold meds, allegry meds, illegal drugs, someone who smokes or drinks coffee or plays with the cb or looks at a map

Charge them thirty cents a mile over 150 miles when they go home. That way at least the fuel is on there dime.

yeah dh 1000 miles is not a smart choice
but if they do make them pay for the fuel
i know if i needed to be back for a doc appointment i would figure out when we would be out and what dates would be in at home and make it for those dates

but we were out 2 weeks sometimes 3 depending if we got a great run
and be home for 2-3 days

Nighttrain,
I wasn't critisizing you, but rather the thing that some truckers who have been perscribe Oxycontin (for example) and take them during or before driving. I find in many cases that no one should be driving at all doped up, let alone driving a truck.

You ever think that maybe they get them filled thru the mail and have to pick them up at home. This can be much cheaper. Usually you can get a 3 month supply at a time. Unless it is a controled substance and then you can't drive any way. Or maybe they think that being out a month at a time is long enough, and need an excuse to go home.

no wasnt on that was on something else that i knew how it affected me
so i knew in the 10-11 hours of sleep it would be ok
i did get prescribed percasets and i rufused to take those on the road with me so had them switch me back to what i was taking

hope everyone that was out there was ok in this storm we got in ohio and i guess other states got hit also

so be careful out there and stay safe

BINGO !!!!
I think you may have hit the nail on the head Babs.
And as Rich stated, After 3-4 weeks out, whats wrong with coming home for a few days?
I would rather see them home once/month than burned out from pushing too hard. It may work for some to "LIVE" in a truck, but speaking from experince, staying out and pushing hard for 6-8-10, weeks at a time can create more health problems than you realize. We don't really get time off in this business like most normal 9-5/5 day /week jobs where the weekend comes around and we can work on personal projects or hobbies or do nothing at all. Even though we may be down for 12,24,48 hours sometimes, or take a few days out of service, it does not compare to the quality time of relaxing in your own home,(unless The truck is your home, and the Nation is your back yard) seeing family and freinds, and sleeping in your own bed. A truck is still a TRUCK and Expediting is still a JOB, I don't care how nice and comfortable your truck is or how much you enjoy your job you need to break from it.
Wow, did I get off on a tangent!! Must be time for the medication!! LOL.
