Hey Stumpy,

I visited your fair city last October (went to a wedding...best one I've ever attended)....
Did some casino stuff too !!!

I also drive a tow truck part-time (flat bed or rollback mostly)...
Tough job...most people don't realize....

Anyway...read all the back posts here...and get a list of questions together...all the people on this site are super and will help steer you out of the "ditch"....

I was the owner and main driver of a towing company from 1990 to 1998. Indeed a tough, competitive, cut-throat expensive business to be in. Wait, that sounds like Expediting.... :p

But seriously, yea towing was a tough business. Often fun too, but I wander off topic...

Stumpy, as has been pointed out search through the previous posts. There are loads of good questions and answers here. Most of your questions will be covered I'd bet. I'll even bet the search will get you a few ideas and questions you had not even considered.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. There aren't that many here that bite.

Hey,

It was a big hall in town...multiple weddings going on...
Name a few and maybe it will ring a belll...
It was very upscale ( lots of booze and great food)

Good Luck on your search...

We drive for Con-Way and they have Canadian trucks. We love 'em! They seem to have fewer problems at the U.S. border...anyway, Con-Way will transfer loads going into Canada off trucks at Con-Way terminals mostly in the Toledo/Detroit areas. I think, to be honest, that many of these are not high milage loads as many of them go into the Toronto,On. area but they would be okay for a solo. I believe that they also get quite a bit of freight out of Canada too. They also have loads that pick up and deliver in Canada and as you know unless your Canadian you can't do this.

Thank you for the heads up on con way I did look into a truck with them just a few weeks ago but I am not willing to get into any thing bigger than a cargo van right now. it is not worth the hassle over here. Have you ever had to deal with M.T.O over here ?wow !!that is why I feel the cargo van is the cheapest way to get into the business too.

Sorry I wandered from just THANKS!!

Hey Stumpy:
Why don't you make a trip up to Mississauga if you are looking for a place that takes vans.
ADCO comes to mind, I see them frequently around here.Dynamix in Cambridge is another.
There are several expedite carriers who have their offices near the airport.

A couple of ideas for you maybe.
