GATS Questions

Looking at the exhibitor list for this weekend's GATS truck show in Dallas, I don't see FedEx Custom Critical. E-1 and Panther are listed but no FedEx?

I see that free truck parking is available at the show. Does anyone know if overnight parking is permitted?

There is free parking and you can spend the night. Easy walking distance to the show. There are not as many vendors as there are at MATS but looks like there is plenty to do. I do not ever remember FedEx Custom Critical having a booth at GATS

We just completed a delivery about 20 miles from the convention center. Show is over for today. We'll see about getting there tonight or tomorrow. Remaining in service. Will roll on a load if a beep comes in.

back from the 1st day , the show is smaller then the last time i was here ,some 5 years back .
they are setting up for the live show now .
was very informative ,and even made some new connections ,for new opportunity's later down the road .
trying to keep my wallet from taking advantage of the great discounts being offered by some of the vendors ,but couldn't help it ,and bought some stuff i really needed .
* was really disappointed by the Micheline bogh ,i think Micheline is making a big mistake when it comes to SS tires .
*was no luck finding (again) a self inflated system for drive axles .
*spent a lot of time at the K&N filters ,they got me sold on that new air filter .
*the air disc brakes are out of the questions ,for now,as they actually heavier then the traditional drums .at lease till the short distance mandate come into effect .

*Only 2 expediters vendors ,Panther & E-1 , some parked out on the lot . was listening to some truckers at the E1/cat stands .it was amassing how little truckers know of Expedite !.

if anyone here ,please stop by and say Hi . im parked under the C5 pole ,look for the 'Expediters on line' logo.

Diane and I are about 20 miles away and will stay put tonight to get sleep. We are still in service and want to be prepared to run if dispatched. If not dispatched, we will swing by the convention center tomorrow morning and probably stay the day.

Diane and I spent part of the day at the show. It's smaller than MATS and can be easily done in less than a day. It's a good show and a nice way to spend the day if you are in the area. The free truck parking and free admission are a plus (the $7.00 hamburgers and $5.00 hot dogs are a minus).

Of greatest interest to me at the show were the two vendors displaying hydrogen generators. These are not truck generators like we think of them but devices that generate hydrogen. The hydrogen is introduced into the truck engine intake manifold. The promised benefits are improved fuel economy, smoother running engine, more power and more.

I'm not at all excited about introducing a different type of fuel into the engine that the engine was not originally designed to run on but I am very interested in the fact that truck-mounted hydrogen generators can be found. I like the idea of a fuel-cell truck generator (generator like we think of them, a device that produces electricity to power the sleeper). Fuel cells run on hydrogen. Seeing these hydrogen generators tells me we are one step closer to seeing fuel cell generators on trucks.
