We are headed to the house for next weekend. I have a DR appointment on Friday that I cannot miss.

On that Sat, the 6th, I am going to do a pheasant/chukar hunt with several long time friends!!

We will be hunting at Bear Creek Hunt Club near Adrian, MI. It is a great place. It is set up for hunting, not a farm. Most of the cover is native Michigan wild grasses, thick, even in winter. It reminds me of the "old days" and how much of the State used to look when I was a kid. Wish it was still like that. There was game then.

We are getting a great price on the birds, 4 pheasants and 2 chukars each for $100.

We will have several very good dogs to hunt over.

It will be fun to hunt with old friends and see those dogs work again!!

I can hardly wait.

Pheasant and chukar for SuperBowl Sunday. Brown some onion in butter, add a lot of white wine, flash the breast meat in that mixture, add lots of peppers, who cares what the game is like then? :D

Seen a fairly good increse of Pheasant this past year Layout,,at least in the grass lake area..I know it doesnt count for the whole state but numbers look good..Now all I gotta do is get the fool that is cutting the alfa to put flusher bars and chains on his equipt this spring..He is bad about this,,No concern for the nests he is plowing thru..Dont think he will be putting it up much longer if he doesnt change his way..

Enjoy your weekkend..

We have no native birds left around here at all. The quail are gone too. The loss of the quail disturbs me more since they are native to Michigan. Not many rabbits left either. Small game does not do well living on a pool table. Game needs cover and there is none left around here. What a shame, it was great hunting when I was a kid. It was good when I left in '76. Sucks now.

I got 3 of the 4 pheasants I paid for and 2 of the 3 chukars. I MISSED 3 other pheasants and 2 other chukars. It was a GREAT DAY!! Got to hunt with friends I don't get to see all that often, got our Super Bowl Sunday dinner, LOTS of fresh air and exercise. The BEST part was getting to watch all those dogs work!! What a treat that is!!! A WONDERFUL DAY!!!
