We are currently sitting at a CAT place in Zanesville, OH and I thought I would mention what the tech said who is working on our truck. First of all, let me tell you, we barely made it into the CAT place - no power, could barely get over 30 MPH to get here. The check engine light came on and the truck was really struggling. The CAT team went all through the filters and did a computer diagnostic. It indicated a problem with the fuel line. It turned out to be a bad check valve. We were certain they would be replacing the fuel pump but the check valve replacement fixed the problem. The technician says lots of junk gets in the fuel line at these places where you fill up one tank then have to pass the fuel line under the truck to fill the other tank. He says he has seen all kinds of things that are picked up under the truck when the fuel line is passed through. He said if you have to use that type of fuel line be sure you tap it on the ground before you start fueling to get anything out that might have been picked up on the ground (like gravel and such). We are going to avoid the stations where this has to be done in the future and we are SO thankful to get back on the road safely!! Our last fueling was at one of those stations on the PA turnpike at a service center.
