Fuel Discounts

I am currently doing some research regarding fuel discounts some carriers and fuel card programs offer.

Can anyone chime in on any decent programs they currently utilize or have in the past?

Best I have come across is .05 a gallon, I know there are better.

hey vince,

take a look at nastc. [ nat'l association of small trucking companies ] they have a program in conjunction with fleet one. avg. discounts we have been seeing are .14 to .23 per gal. and no fee for using the card plus other discounts tied to the program include, discounts on service and pm's at petro/ta and sprint phone service. there are other discounts also.

The NASTC program looks good, except that we're pretty much stuck with TA/Petro fueling. I saw the list for discounts. What are the rates like elsewhere? Standard cash pricing?

there are lots of secondary fuel stops in the system but t/a and petro are the biggest. you can use the card at loves but loves charges 2 bucks. as far as i know you can use it at other fuel stops and get cash price. the only place i know of you cant use it is the wonderful new pilot j. they refuse to accept the fleet one card that is attached to this discount program.

once a member there is a website that you go to for current daily fuel pricing by location. as far as being allocated to mainly t/a petro it really hasnt been that big of an issue. occasionally i have a lapse of judgment and have to stop and throw in a few bucks to get to a different fuel stop but its my fault. it is possible to plan around this problem. so far we like it.

I had been contacted recently by another organization called Trans-Alliance. It looks similar to NASTC, but I think there are some fees charged when the card is used. I will be talking to them and pass on what I find out.
