Do you ever purchase fuel on Induian reservations. They sell fuel free of many taxes others charge.I have purchased many times over the years and have found it to be satisfactory.I have never encounterd Red color,as in other untaxed fuel. The price is allways 10 to 15 cents less than other nearby fuel stops.
I should point out that I drive a "C" truck(under 26,000GVW).I have never recieved a charge back on my settlements, but I wonder if those trucks over 26K do get charged back.
New York state has several of these locations.I know of I90x33,I90x58 and I88x23 I am sure there are others.com-check is a good place to get leads on them. Of course they are not refered to as "Indian" but the price is a dead givaway.

If your not paying fuel tax at your company I would certainly buy the most cost effective fuel with good quality you can. In winter time especially you don't want to save a penny to find yourself froze up on the side of the road. Sometimes you do get what you pay for. I have in the past bought fuel on the reservations you are talking about and never had any problems other than not getting the credit for fuel tax that would be due. Good luck.

If over 26,000 gvw, I believe you are responsible for the fuel tax even though it is not collected at the pump.

You are correct Glen. In addition, they don't put dye in their fuel anymore and most take comdata cards in the southern NYS area.
