FSC covering fuel prices?

Hey all,
Just wanted to see what % other companies are loading on your fuel cards.
Bolt is loading 25% and it's not covering my fuel costs with the rising fuel prices. If I up my percentage, I pay more in fees. Right now I pay 1% for the 25%. I really hate these fees!!!
Just wandering what some of the other companies percentages are and how are you keeping up with the fuel prices??
Thanks for any and all replies.

I would set your reserves to use your own fuel card. Doing a search on EO as there are several types out there. That way you save the one percent and don't have to fool with the advances.

I have always done the same. I use my own fuel card (no service charge and small payback) and get the fuel surcharge with my settlements. Advances can cause misunderstandings and hurt feelings.

I don't feel FSC is offered to "cover" your fuel costs. They are offered to "help off set" your fuel costs. You need to buy a little fuel on your own.

Let me rephrase...I made a mistake in language.
I was refering to the trip advances that one can receive after receiving a load. Sorry for any confusion.

We get card loads when we QC our POD. We can get anything from 1-45%. The load charge is the same regardless of the percentage taken. There isn't really a formal program for advances prior to completion of the run.

Thank you Leo,
That is the information I was looking for. Yesterday, when I posted, I was a little "brain dead". Thanks for your understanding!!! :)

Let's not even go there by saying we have to pay for a portion of the fuel costs! Hush!!! Pleeeaaaseeee!

Let's define surcharge:

1. An additional sum added to the usual amount or cost.
2. An overcharge, especially when unlawful.

Let's define surcharging:

1. To charge (a person) an additional sum.
2. To overcharge (a person).
3. To place an excessive burden on; overload.
4. To fill beyond usual capacity; overfill.

If the FSC does not cover the miles...don't run the load.

Because when you succumb to FSC's that are substandard you open the door for every little mom and pop carrier with 3 or 4 old junk trucks to start picking off your business.

Stand firm...demand what is right!!!

Laura: I drive a D unit for Bolt also and that has been my only complaint with them.
THEY DO NOT GIVE YOU ENOUGH MONEY FOR FUEL.
I have to call in on almost every load begging for more money.
I don't know what their problem is with it,other than they charge you an extra 15 bucks to reload your com card with the money you need.
WHAT A SCAM !!!!!!!!!
