Does anyone have personal knowledge on FS-2500 or similar model(s)? I’m considering installing one in my 1998 FL70 with a CAT 3126.
Thanks for taking an interest in the FS-2500 bypass filter from Filtration Solutions. Our filter is a patented, very efficient and very compact bypass filter that is saving truckers all over the country thousands of dollars per year in oil drains and even more is longer engine life. We have been in business for 11 years and we have had a patent on our unique filtering technology for 7 years now.
Basically the FS-2500 will control the soot, water and dirt in your engine so you can get a longer oil drain interval than you are getting now. In fact our average over the road customer using the FS-2500 with petroleum based oils is changing oil at 65,000 miles with perfect oil samples and zero wear. Our over the road customers using synthetic oils are changing oil at 180,000 miles on average. So the FS-2500 will cut your oil changes per year from 12 to 14 now down to 2 (depending on your annual mileage and current maintenance program), and at today’s oil change prices you are talking about thousands of dollars in savings right away and into the future.
The other big benefit you will get by using the FS-2500 is that it will literally stop the wear in your engine. We have customers using the FS-2500 who have gotten 1,250,000 miles or more with the bearings measuring the same as brand new bearings. The only reason they had to open the engine at all was because some non-oil related failure caused them to have to overhaul the engine (i.e. broken valve springs causing a valve to drop or injector nozzles etc). And once the engines were open, aside from where the broken parts impacted, the engines were soot and sludge free and were like new inside. If it were not for this other issues, there is no telling how far the engines would last (our record holder is 2,980,000 on a Cummins Big Cam 4 without an overhaul. When the truck was retired and converted into a dump truck a dyno test showed that the engine had factory spec horsepower and torque!)
The FS-2500 is sold with an engine/chassis specific kit, so if you have a 1998 FLD 120 with a Detroit Series 60 or a 2005 279 Pete with a C-15 ACERT engine, you will get a full install kit for that exact truck (we have virtually all class 8 truck/engine kit combinations in our database. I am sure we will have whatever truck and engine that you have). The unit comes with all the hose and fittings needed for the installation and we us stainless steel hose standard equipment. The FS-2500 is very compact, it measures about 5 ½†in diameter and 11†long and only holds 1½ quarts of oil so you can change the element on the road at a truck stop without making a mess or a hazmat spell.
The FS-2500 is on special right now for Landline readers. The kit is normally priced at $689.00 with the kit described above. For a limited time we are selling the kit for $614.00, that’s over a
10% discount. The replacement elements are $26.95 each and are changed once every 10,000. The shipping and handling on the FS-2500 kit is $24,89 (in the 48 contiguous states) and if you buy as many as 4 elements with your initial order the shipping and handling will not change so your total price would be $746.69 (FS-2500, full install kit, 4 elements and shipping and handling).
I have also attached a brief comparison fact sheet so you can see the differences between the FS-2500 and the Gulf Coast filter (in case you are interested).
