Found this in G-Mail help.

This bounce message was not caused by Gmail. This bounce indicates that the recipient domain's MX (Mail exchanger) record is misconfigured, and does not recognize current Gmail servers

I don't know if it's the case at EO, but many mail servers are "misconfigured" on purpose (allowed rcpthosts) to block the tons of SPAM from origins like Hotmail, gmail, Yahoo, etc.
