I'm not debating you I'm just trying to be helpful by referring people to a good source for information is all.

I understand that, I am making a point that he really hasn't done a thing yet to be happy about. I would like to see him say 'you know, I am not going to play around, we are going to fix this problem and it starts with.....'

The latest is to appease the Gays with the shepard law, which we don't need hate crime laws - it leads to the thought police - but it is a special interest thing and nothing less.

That's fair but don't say he hasn't done "anything".....he has, it may not be the things "you" want done, which I understand but I guess you can't make everyone happy. Let's remember also, he's been in office for 10 months.

I was going to wait for Layout to say it, but here goes:

Vote em all out!

Witness---I can appreciate you posting those links as a counterpoint. I don't think there is an unbiased news source out there anymore. Normally, I like watching the CBC news to get an outside perspective that isn't completely weirdo European. I'd welcome a healthy dialogue on here, but I don't see a bunch of posts one way or the other changing anybody's mind.

Wow....I'm glad you said that, I was just going to start another thread titled "Vote 'em all out" and ask on here how you do you vote out all the people in Govt. I think I will so this thread doesn't get hijacked.

My wife recently heard a phrase on the radio and repeated it to me, "Stop opposing everything and start proposing". Think about, I mean really, really think about it.

I agree to a certain extent but here is the link for the St. Petersburg Times on the history of their newspaper PolitiFact | Inside the Meters: Who is PolitiFact? Who pays for Politifact?

Pretty interesting.

I'd welcome a healthy dialogue on here

So you are saying the dialogue on here "for the most part" has not been healthy? If so, I would whole heartedly agree with you, IF that's what you are saying.

but I don't see a bunch of posts one way or the other changing anybody's mind.

Believe me I'm not trying to change anyone's mind (unlike others on here) I'm just like you, I'm just looking for some "healthy dialogue".

Well what's healthy to you guys?

I understand the cut and paste issue but outside of that? (3 years) I have had one break down (just a couple weeks ago to be exact) which had nothing to do with the PM I do or the age of the truck.

I want the enviro Nazis to hold the Congress responsible for their collective carbon footprint, regardless of political party. They are hard on everyone else, but the rules don't apply to them. I would also like to see some fiscal responsibility, flying two different jets to win the Olympics, along with all of there support services was ill advised. Pelosi's abuse by flying a government jet cross country 2 times per week instead of flying commercial is theft of services in my opinion.

You guys??? Not sure what you mean by "you guys". It sounds like it's "us against them". Not me, I only speak for myself. I've shared the same opinions, thoughts, concerns with just about everyone on here.

It boils down to this, It's not what you say, it's how you say it. Or, It's not what you know, It's what you can prove.

Many people have proposed good ideas and possible solutions that are different that Barry and Co. like. Just as in the health care thing, NO debate allowed!! There are MANY GOOD ways to have a cleaner environment, NO debate allowed!! We, in this country, have the resources and the brain power to not only clean up the air, but do it without wiping out jobs and the rest of our environment. Barry and Co. will kill jobs, wipe out clean water and destroy wildlife habitat in the name of a "Better Environment". There is less open debate right now than there has EVER been in my lifetime and it will get worse. It is up to us to vote out everyone of these bums. The answer to our problems is NOT more government, the answer is good Old American brains, hard work and sweat. Turn us loose and we can do ANYTHING we put our minds too. No problem is too big to fix. In fact, the bigger the problem, the greater the challenge, the more fun it is!!! Barry and our entire government are not the answer, they are just in the way of the solution.

Here's the problem... What is proposed is dismissed by Congress unless it's right in line with what they want. If it's proposed by a Republican, it's dismissed because the Dem leaders want credit. If it opposes what the Dems want, they dismiss it because it's their way or nothing. Not saying that last one is wrong; but I hate when they lie by saying the opposition is not coming up with their own ideas. Fact is, they aren't coming up with something Pelosi can drool over.

My idea is to leave everything alone. This idea that we have a "crisis" is BS! Reagan was warning us of this back in '61. To paraphrase: "Congressman so-and-so says all we need to do is get our foot in the door, then expand it later." Call me paranoid, conservative (which I am), or anything else you want. If that doesn't stink of just an open desire for control, I don't know what does.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way.
Stop opposing everything and start proposing.
If you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem.
The square root of three equals two for large values of three.

There are MANY very smart people in American industry but government regs are stopping them from fixing problems. Government is NOT interested in solutions, just controlling and ruling. Just one example: Outboard engines.

Several years ago the EPA had a big push on to outlaw 2 stroke outboards. They KNEW that they would have a major court battle so they put out "emissions standards" for the engine makers to meet. The made those standards so tough, that they did NOT think that anyone could meet them. Evinrude did. Their ETEC engine met 2012 standards in 2001. California STILL tried to outlaw that engine because it is still a 2 stroke engine. The court battle kept that engine off the market for more than 2 years. It cost Evinrude millions in lost sales. It stopped a very fuel efficent, clean burning engine off of the market. They finally won.

It is hard to lead or propose solutions when government stacks the deck. They are NOT interested in ANYTHING but what they want. That is NOT a atmosphere that incourages inovation, leadership or problem solving.

Two of the main problems the GOP continually faces is that their proposals are (1) not allowed by the Democrat leadership to reach the floors of Congress for debate, and (2) not reported to any significant degree by the Democrats' willing accomplices in the mainstream media. Granted, the GOP leadership should be more resourceful and effective in getting their message out. That being said, the following link offers their alternative plans for health care reform:

Health Care - GOP Solutions for America - GOP.gov

Unfortunately, they are in the position of having to defeat the Obama socialist plan before being able to get consideration for their alternatives.
