From lurker to member

Well after months of lurking, I have signed on for the first time as a member. I can't wait to start blazing my own trail in the transport industry, but I have to start small and go from there just like the rest of my family that also happens to be self employed. There is something to being your own boss that makes it all worth while. With any luck I'll have a van soon and start locally, once I build up capital I'll expand into the national arena. Thanks and I continue to look forward to reading and learning all I can in order to have the best chance at succeeding in this business.

Is there a reason you want to start locally? Are the other self employed members of your family in the transportation industry?

Paul: Yeah, I think I'd be stretching my money a bit thin i think if I went with something other than local, or getting a local delivery/courier job to start out plus I need some experience. None of my family has been in the transport industry. Mostly in home care and the trades. I was a warehouse box shuffler in my prior life until the company didn't need their temps anymore.

Good luck. You'll find lots of useful and useless information on this site. Mostly useful tho! It's helped me over the years that's for sure. But some old habits are harder to kick than others!! LOL
