Sorry I missed this. I just ran across this part of the forum. The beam bracket is not rated, because they say lumber is too variable. Lodi Metals did carry a garment rail made out of metal that set in the cradle. It had a vertical load rating, but I can no longer find it on their site. The bracket is sturdier than any of the strap hardware that does get rated. I only use the beam bracket as a stop to keep otherwise secured freight from sliding forward. The bracket does the brunt of the work by keeping a pallet from binding or sliding over the straps that may be clipped forward of the load. The 2x8 is taller that most pallets and helps keep stuff from sliding off the pallet.
