From the New York City Department of Transportation web site:

"Fill out the form below to request a free New York City Truck Route Map. This full color, double-sided map features the City’s comprehensive Truck Route Network overlaid on top of the entire arterial street network making it easier for drivers to locate specific streets and intersections. The map also contains helpful information on truck route signage, weight limits and dimensions, overweight/overdimensional permitting and truck related violations as well as city, regional and state truck-related resources. This convenient 24”x34” accordion style map folds down to 4”x8” to easily fit in the cab of your truck. You can also download copies of the truck map from this Web site."

What a great resource! Makes my palms sweaty just thinking of all those parkways and detour sighs!

Maps are helpful... but nothing beats having the experience of having gone in, found your way around and then seeing the place fade in your rear views on the way back out.

With those experiences under your belt eventually you can go in without even looking at the map and it becomes just another ho-hum run.

I can't even remember the name of the place I used to go to all the time up there. Hauling produce. There would be tons of produce trucks up there. You know how it is. It's right on the tip of your tongue, or in this case fingers, and won't come out. I remember now Hunt's Point I think. Whatever they called it it was a pain and I hated the place. It wasn't worth the extra 25 bucks CR England gave me to go there. Not like I had very much of a choice.

Thanks A Team. Great resource to have. It's not my favorite city to visit but, it sure is always interesting.

The original link still works. It takes you to the main page that talks about the routes, then about half way down there are two links to download the PDF file, as well as the link to request a paper map.
