It might be said that a smart consumer of news might not be all that trusting of any news source.

But then Faux News viewers are indeed a very "special" breed ... lol ...

If you click through and read the actual poll numbers, you see that Fox News comes in first only with those who trust "a great deal," but when "a great deal" is combined with "somewhat" then Fox News at 55% is trusted overall less than ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN, all of whom are in the 60s.

So, Fox News is the most trusted by those who most trust a single news source. That's not surprising when you think about it, as Fox News viewers are indeed as former Fox News Watch host Eric Burns described as "a cult."

One of the fundamental methods employed by cults to assure unwavering loyalty is to demand that devotees believe only in the doctrine bestowed by the cult. All others are presumed to be deceivers and unworthy of trust. That's exactly what Fox News and it's loyal following ascribe to.
