The shipper of this load is more concerned about this actually arriving, than how fast. They have been more than understanding. The breakdown was a delay, but the load was booked with ample time to let us gear up on the way. This was because we recived 2 hours notice for a load that required some preparation.

Dieselphreak, please update us when you get back, on how it went, and I sure hope you spent some money on stuff that's a little warmer than chrome, at the Iowa 80!:p

Well, I never made it back. I never made it there. Last night in WY, Jason hit a deer dead center with my truck. The load was swapped out very early this am. The truck is damaged, but not terribly fro what I could see. However due to OOIDA's insurance only being open 9 to 5, M-F, I am stuck here at a Motel 6 in Gilette, WY until Monday.

Thanks everybody for the kind wishes, and the advice. I relayd most of it to the team that took over the load. They appreciated it very much.

Phreak, my condolences on your deer(antelope)truck collision. Better hitting the deer dead on than swerving to avoid it and rolling in the ditch. Sounds as if this trip has all the makings as "THE TRIP FROM HELL". Hope you get fixed up and back on the road soon. Stay out of those sheep bars. You may get fleeced. Baaaaa.

Happy birthday Phreak.

At first glance I wondered why you didn't keep going. Then I noticed the coolant lines, ect. Kudos to your driver for keeping his head and not jerking the wheel. I hit one with a CL9000 cabover dead center. In my case he didn't go under the truck and I was good to keep going. It was still 4k in damage.

Man, my biggest fear.

But hows the deer?

Hope everything gets fixed fast and you are back on the road.

Happy Birthday!

##### BOY,
I have been lurking on this one with bated breath specially since Cyn and I came outta there 6 weeks ago (snowing there then) and popped down to Minot with visions of expedite success stirring in our heads (we got over it) I was rooting for ya..
Happy Birthday for what it's worth and hope your days are getting better.
The photos don't look bad what part of the truck was rendered inoperable?

Sorry about the damages to your truck; however, it could have been much worse.

With moose bars the truck may be still operating. I know many don't like the look, but they do have the potential to save downtime and repair expenses associated with a hit.

The truck is running. Motor seems to be fine. However the deer went underneath the truck the entire length, bouncing off of every component. The slight leak from the oil pain has gotten worse, and Jason said the truck didn't sound correct when he was downshifting to stop after impact. The truck may be driveable, but if I do and then a component fails, it won't be covered by insurance. I will wait for further instruction from my insurance company. I pay plenty for it, and plan to make good use of the coverage.

I'd love to find an Ali-Arc type guard for frontal protection. I can't seem to find a manufacturer that makes a model for the T300. I have a custom fab shop already mesuring my father's T300 to give me a design and estimate.

Bless your heart! This must have been way up there with the worst birthday ever! Sorry about your truck but thankful no one was hurt. Seems like you were not meant to make this run, you know? Sometimes God intervenes and there is a reason you may never know but you were meant to stay in the States at this particular time. Hang in there! india

On a recent trip to Edmonton AB,I was struck by seeing nearly every truck equipped with Moose Bars.

They must be standard equipment up there.

We have the Ali-Arc bars on the whole fleet, including our own truck. They modified them for us to include brackets for extra lighting.

Hey Phreak, we picked up a load in Seattle and came across I90 and I saw you at the rest area in SD getting the tow truck hooked up. Thought that was your truck! Sorry to hear about all this happening. Happy belated B-Day and hope things work out for you tomorrow with the insurance company.

What kind of insurance company isn't available 24/7? You'd think that OOIDA would have that service, being as much as they are.

Another KW T-3 driver told me that KW does have them. But if not I had one being built last year and than the guy got a job at another Race Team and I lost my fabricator contact.

I WANT ONE ALSO..... You know how to get ahold of me....

Sorry for the loss.
