Ill be checking in on your blog. Havent checked this years route but a couple times in past years I have gone to a check station on I40 in Indiana and seen some check in.

They all amaze me but I think the solo riders more than any.

I just rode 10 miles yesterday and it kicked my butt. I need to get in shape, a shape other than round.

My aching bottom. The seats that come on bikes today will really hurt u and at my age, I dont need a sex change, lol. I like a seat that came on the bikes in the fifties that were comfy and soft and did not crush ur privates so to speak, any recommendations ?

Go to a real bike store and work with one of the sales people. They should ask your type of riding and be able to help you find a good seat. Even with the racing style seats there is wide variables. Honestly a lot of it boils down to breaking your butt into the seat but if you have a bad seat it might never happen. Also make sure the seat and bike is adjusted right fir you. You can google "bike fitting" or bike setup and find some good info.

We were on US 54 in Kansas on monday night, early tuesday morning and saw 7 teams headed towards Wichita.

It looked like the wind was really beating the riders up.

The wind was brutal and it really wore on everyone's minds. I have no clue how the riders kept getting back on the bikes and advancing forward with a never give up attitude. Today the wind is basically gone in Missouri and the team is BACK being their ornery selves and talking about what they want for a meal when they reach Maryland!

They are freaking awesome is all I can say and in reality we are humbled by their determination that they will not fail.

The solo leaders are in the Gettysburg area, getting close. It's amazing they can race across the entire country and two of them be seperated by less than an hour!

We have finished the race and I am working on my last blog.... We had a fun surprise near the end when everyone broke into high gear and we changed the strategy. I will have a follow up blog to this one with in a few days....
