The Walmarts around my area have always had guns. Sam Walton was probably rolling in his grave when Walmart stopped stocking guns in all of their stores.

There was a time when a store called Roses carried many Rifles as well, British Enfiled 303 ring a bell.
As with many things Roses is no where to be found in Iowa or VA.

The first deer rifle I ever bought was at a Kmart. It was a WWII surplus 8MM Mauser. I "sporterized" my self. Paid $25 for it.

The first gun I ever bought on my own was a Remington model 572 pump .22 with a cintzy 150th aniversery stamp on it. Paid, I think, $60 for it. I was 15. Road my bike up to the local hardware store, gave the guy my money, got the rifle and 4 boxes of shells. Those were the GOOD old days. No one even batted an eyelash. It was normal and crime was WAY lower then than now.

And your point is?[/QUOTE

Sorry to take so long to reply.

I guess my point is that I think that Sam Walton would be unhappy with the direction that Walmart has taken.

Sam Walton was a life long bird hunter, and even named the Old Roy brand dog food after his favorite bird dog

Of course Sam Walton was a business man first and if the guns were not making money, he might have stopped putting guns in the new stores himself. But I hope not.

I am sure Sam Walton is rolling in his grave for numerous things Wal-Mart has done
How they treat truck drivers/shoppers now, the fact that they are all major cities now(he wanted them in the rural areas for people who needed a place to shop), Remember the old buy American ads Wal-Mart had now it should be buy Chinese crap!!!

Read his book, the company is not even close to how he wanted it
Well, maybe the chant they do at the beginning of the shift LOL
