First, I am not telling anyone what to do so if your only response to this is to chime in with don't be telling us what to do or who are you to say what font to use or something similar then don't even respond. I am posting an FYI for anyone who cares. If you have an opinion on font choice then please share it, otherwise there are other threads available or you can start a new one.

Some browsers accept whatever font style, size and color you set regardless of what it is. Some of them are quite difficult and tiring to read because they are so big they run together from one row to another. Some are so small it's tough to read them. Some are strange colors. Some are entirely in bold which is less readable than the default font. The default font is the default for a reason. By default it is clear and readable.

Now, go use whatever font you want. Just be aware and know that it's possible your posts aren't being read in full all the time because your font turns folks away.

Very true. The more decorated the font, the less likely I am to read the post.

Warning some fonts may appear differently on other's screens.
I like big fonts and I cannot lie.

It almost looks like a word or notepad font that is then copied and pasted into the thread.
If it is, set it to bold and it should be okay. ( or even bump up the font size )

My two cents worth, not really saying you MUST do that, you are welcome to use any font you like as you see to use it, and hey I will still try to read it, all i'm saying is what it looked like to me, it may not even be the case, i hope nobody gets mad at me saying what i thought
just my opinion, which is worth as much as the paper i am writing this on..........
ooppps, no paper , just tongue in cheek.

Leo, the browsers can read a lot of encoded fonts, the user has to allow the selection to take place by the browser. Some don't have theirs setup to use other page encoding, some don't know what or how to set it while others don't care.

I look at a lot of different pages, so I let the browser do the work, sometimes it is Arabic, Russian and the ten different types of western style fonts that loads on the page. Everything seems to be right with those pages but every once in a while something does not seem right.

BUT as I mentioned before in that other thread, EO seems to be the only site I have found (or remember) that actually changes the font size when selecting Times New Roman, which makes it look small. I don't think it is my browser, not my machine, I just checked it with my blog and a few others site where i have posting privileges and using WYSIWYG.

As far as the fonts, there are a few that make it difficult to read, I think that does not mean it is a bad thing but it is an expression of the person. BUT them avatars, someone has to do something about them avatars.......

But Greg.............not all of us can sit back in our easy chairs and count our money (like yours), some of us have to keep moving, moving, moving to turn the buck!:p

Now that I think about it, wonder what it means that Lawrence's is spinning, spinning, spinning??

DD, I got to say that you inspired me to add that. :)

I am sitting here reading a thread one day and your avatar came up, I thought the thing got behind my screen filter. I took the it off not thinking that day at all just to find out it was your avatar. But later that week, the worst thing happened, my 16lb Nascar/Formula One watching cat came up here to do some typing (lying on the keyboard to pester me) and he spotted the thing moving around. He jumped up and attacked the monitor, knocking it over, which knocked the coffee I just poured which made a big mess with my notes and stuff and forced me to clean the entire desk and floor. I now have a broken 19 inch LCD monitor that I bought a few months ago which just got out of warentee when this happened, I still have a sticky carpet in one spot and the finish on my $12 fake mahogany desk drives me up a wall (kidding on the last part). He really went at the thing and still, every once in a while he will come up here and try to find it.

Just 'own it' Greg.....I can't be responsible for the damages that your 'out of control' cat makes because it thinks it's your secretary!!:p:p

I prefer sans-serif type faces for the cleaner, less fussy look and readability. As Piper demonstrated, some colors don't work well. As for bold and italic;these should be used to emphasize words or set something apart such as quotations, author, title etc.

As with the old system, indenting paragraphs is not possible. Please double space.

What do you mean you can't indent;
I indent all the time, just last night I indented a fender on a car that would not move out of my way. He moved after the indent I made. Another time some lady was talking on the phone and she just putted along at 30 mph while hitting the curb, I indented her bumper when I moved her out of the way for the long line of cars behind me.

OH you mean indenting paragraphs, I don't know anything about that.:D

I guess one can indent paragraphs.
I was so used to the old format that I must not have tried.

Thanks Greg.

Hey, that didn't work! How do you do that?

What you didn't like my attempt at Moot humor?

Well how does one indent, I guess if you grab your mouse, highlight the paragraph sentence or word and go up here and left click it indents.

Sometimes you can indent even more then the previous indenturement

And even more and more and more

and more and more and more
Also before I forget, do you have your advance post setting set in you user control panel? The indentation buttons are next tot he bulleting buttons and left of the link button.

Remember before indenting a fender, highlight it. :)
