Just north of Cookeville TN there is the town of Gainesboro. Plenty of fishing and its peaceful there. Lots of stumps, and fish. Have been looking at Jon Boats similar to this one with trolling motor..Many years ago I used trolling motors only, they are simple, quiet and easy to use in the shallows.

I used trolling motor only for many years fishing strip pits in western Indiana. It was so easy, drop the tailgate on the 4x4 lift the boat in the bed and on our way.

Being small and mobile has its advantages especially when running by yourself.
I personally would chose something with a bit semi-v built into the flat bottoms boats.. If you ever got into rought water with that boat, ya just could play he** getting off the water in a hurry..

I agree with Sloride, a modified Vee jon would be a better choice.

I too have used electric motors. They are a bit of a double edged sword though. They are quiet, BUT, the batteries are very heavy. It is possible to get a small gas outboard that is lighter than a trolling motor/battery combination.

Neither the gas or electric is perfect in all situations. I find the gas outboard is the most versitale. They can be used anywhere except places that don't allow them. They have greater range, provide more power, and can be lighter.
