WoW its been exciting with pantherii, friday morning got a load from ohio to ky paid 547.00 with fsc saturday afternoon got load from ky deadhead to huntsville,al to deliver to brampton,on 880miles with a 55cent fsc with my deal with our o/o that load paid 1200!!! theres money to be made boys, what ive learned is dont ever turn down a load because you never know what maybe on the other end of that short load. sitting at a TA mile marker 230 on the 401 waiting for the next load offer... thats all for now going to the buffet

Well Good For You : For your first 3 days ,but dont let it get to your head.They will feed the Newbies for a couple of weeks.And then reality sets in.Get used to the buffets that you are eating right now,because you might be eating a lot of them waiting on the next load.

I noticed you delivered in Brampton and moved to Woodstock to wait. Was this because Toronto area was loaded up? I find Toronto area to be much more busy than the London/Woodstock area.
I know this will cause a stir, but this post combined with some other conversations over the past few days with some more happy Panther II drivers I will have to open my mouth and insert foot. I can see the two sides of the story and it is becomming apparent that Panther II is making O/Os money and doing business in a very fair way. Glad to hear from another success story

Most come around once they have ALL of the information from the right sources.
Inaccurate or negative posts get attention for awhile, but soon die once more facts are gathered.
As you mentioned, once you started seeing ALL the cards, your opinions started to change.
It goes without saying that the larger companies with hundreds of trucks will have some disgruntled drivers. Just a law of averages.
Apparently most are happy or Panther wouldn't have the size fleet they do. Unless of course, there is some sudden change.
Kudos to you for stepping up to the plate.

dont let the negative egg heads feed you full of bull ive been with panther since first part of june and average 2000 miles a week with my sprinter,, ive had some huge surcharges also, but the last 2 weeks the amount has dropped... its alll about repositioning, dont go by the qc if it puts u in the middle of low freight, they just want that area covered at any expense, keep your spirits up and you will do fine, and yes there is people not getting as many miles, met one last week, who was going to switch companies because she isnt getting miles..it was wed morning and i already had 1400 miles for the week...she said she is constantly bitching to them for not getting any miles..do you think that has anything to do with it??? it would me if i was the dispatcher

Im just guessing here but if they need freight moved from one area and they have 4-5 trucks available that there could be some pull toward a company owned rig or to a driver that is a little more friendly and easier to work with. IMO

I think alot of ppl are disgruntled by the way they're treated at Panther. The ones who make it AND enjoy it basically learn the politics and employ diplomacy where it counts. Dave takes it as "it's business, nothing personal" attitude, and I'm sure instructs his drivers to do the same. That's why he's successful with a "colder than normal" dispatch and safety. It's kind of like having a jerk for a boss, but he constantly gives you a chance to earn more. Dave helped me understand Panther alot more while I was running my truck with them. Ever since, it was strictly business with them, and I was happy.

actually ive started slowing down to 1000 miles per week the last two weeks...however it could be me..dead heading home to a warm bed instead of sitting at a location in 5 deg weather need that sprinter conversion put in soon...going to aruba for a week in january so i might have it put in that week!!!
I used to DH home alot as well in the cold weather....made it harder to make good money but it seemed like I got called for more runs waiting at home than I did on the road. But I live in a hot area for pick-ups to Detroit.How many days a week do you stay on the road?Or do you make the delievery and dh back home?

usually i stay out monday thru friday, i have to be home two weekends a month for military duty. so it cuts those weeks short...i live in between lansing and grand rapids which is also a hot area...instead of the 500-800 mile loads they have been much shorter the last month...which is way less profitable doing shorter runs....who knows.. i will pick away at it as the days go by or we might be reaching the slower season that ive heard about...if i am withing 150 miles i will dead head home...however i could use a load headed south to 60 degree weather

Let me get this straight, you have to be home every two weeks ( I personaly thank you for serving our country) but your an Expeditor, did you not think this would hamper your opportunity to make a living in this industry?
There had to be better choices to make a living at with two schedules that are conflicting.
