It is my understanding that due to DOT regs We cant haul Household Goods IE funiture ect and move some one think it is the big moving companies way of protecting their interests.

Your mistaken there is no DOT regulation banning expediters from transporting household furniture.

I may be mistaken about this, there is no ban but in order to haul household goods, there must be published tarifs.

"Tariff: A list of rates, rules, regulations, and available services. Each mover publishes its own tariffs and these must be provided to you upon request."

you have to have the authority to haul house hold goods,its a separate class of transportation
besides why haul anything but expedite,broker loads dont pay enough

I would agree with the colonel. There is a little more to it. As far as brokered loads, it depends on where you are looking. Some of the brokered loads pay well. Just have to know where to look. Also, sometimes you have to pick up two to get a real good rate. That at times pays better than expedite.
