Thanks
............now go look in the mirror and reflect upon your remarks with your opinions towards the Sprinter.
No need. My remarks toward the Sprinter are honest and pragmatic, as are my remarks towards a Ford. I've owned both and am loyal to neither. Each has their pluses and minuses.
Every time someone does have a legitimate complaint about the Sprinter, you're the first one to give a long drawn out lecture about how great the Sprinter actually is.
Now you're just making stuff up. That's about as false of a statement as I've read on here in a while. A legitimate complaint is just that, legitimate, but most of the complaints from so-called Sprinter bashers are anything but legitimate. And I'm rarely the first to post a reply giving a long drawn out lecture about how great the Sprinter is. My comments about the Sprinter are rarely emotional or designed to be misleading, but are more pragmatic about what needs to be done or about the approach one needs to take when dealing with a Sprinter.
Again, reflect upon your own opinions when you have such an opinion towards "others" opinions. Your "conclusions" may come back and bite you in your rear. IE - Your quote above clearly reflects most of the lecturing you have done on the Sprinter here recently.
Give me one example of where I derided or berated a non-Sprinter owner for owing the van of their choice. You can't. You can't because I haven't done it. I don't care whether or not someone has a particular vehicle. It doesn't effect me in the least. My conclusions are based upon reality, my own experiences, and on the observations and comments of both experienced Sprinter mechanics and expediters. It's not difficult to come to the conclusions I have reached, and it is highly unlikely that they will come back and bite me in the butt.
I bought a Sprinter because I got tired of three things: (1) having to break down skids, primarily those auto freight skids, and then rebuild them inside the van, and then reverse the process at delivery, because they were half an inch too tall to fit through the door, (2) not being able to sleep while loaded (I had a short wheelbase Ford), and (3) doing everything on my knees. Primarily, I wanted the ability to stand up in the van. Everything else doesn't matter. From my perspective, those who want to live on their knees, a Ford is the way to go. But I don't think they're stupid for wanting to do that.
Do I think everyone should have a Sprinter? Absolutely not. A Sprinter requires a different and unique commitment, in many areas and on many levels, which is far different from that of a Ford or other cargo van. Those who cannot or will not make that commitment should have nothing to do with a Sprinter. There are tradeoffs regardless of which vehicle you have, be it living on your knees in exchange for easier and more traditional maintenance, to more load opportunities and revenue potential in exchange for higher maintenance costs and the regulations of a straight truck.
People should drive whatever vehicle they want to drive, and should do so for their own reasons. But someone who makes a comment born of ignorance or stupidity, in an evangelic attempt to influence others, I'm gonna call them on it,
especially those who are married to their ignorance and stupidity.
