Wife just sent this to me. Finally came over the banks lastnight for the first time in maybe 2 years. Been long over due and is good to see.
This is the Portage river running behind our place..Hope it stays and cuts a path into its orignal flow before the Corp of Army Engrs got a hold of it.

There has been a lot of rain lately. May see the Great Lakes start to come up some. Too bad, we are just now seeing regeneration of the marshes. OH well, it is what it is. The Lakes have been high for a very long time.

Glad to see the Portage coming back.

Still coming up..Wish I could get a updated photo off Goggle earth right about now of the area to see how and where it is running thru the wood lots. I have a general idea of where the old river bed use to run but over the years it gets harder and harder to see..A flow like this will help to see it again when (if) I get around to my ponds.

I was in the Moline/Davenport area yesterday. A lot of people are flooded out of their homes. It looks like there is water where it hasn't been for a very long time.

Yeah its not allways good news..
Was in St.Louis lastnight when they said a Levee let loose somewhere north of downtown???..I didnt see anything but some locals sitting in the Dennys said there was going to be some put out by it. Not sure how bad or wide spread it got.

Have a buddy that had to shut down and get home to help his Mom up in the Chicago area as her house was totally flooded. Haven"t talked to him yet and dont know what caused it other then alot of water.

Yeah, we seen a lot of flooding when we went through there on Tuesday. When they end a drought, they REALLY end a drought.
