Feminism vs. Kirsten Dunst

You've qualified your statement that both genders CAN BE both, not ARE both, but CAN be, and further qualified it with "depending on the circs" (circumstances, I'm assuming). That indicates it's possible, but certainly not the case in all cases, meaning that not all men are strong in every instance, and not all women are weak in every instance, nor are they the opposite in every instance. So, it appears that you are saying that, sometimes, a women can be strong, and sometimes a women can be weak, depending on the circumstances. And that, sometimes, a man can be strong and sometimes a man can be weak, depending on the circumstances.

Kirsten Dunst said, "Sometimes, you need your knight in shining armor."

And you're offended by that. Highly.

It only goes in one direction, is what's offensive [highly!]. Men can be in need of 'rescuing', but that doesn't ever get spoken about [out loud, or in public], much less made into fairy tale tropes.
Portraying only women as needing to be rescued, and only men as the rescuers [unless you're Bernard & Bianca, lol, from one of the few Disney movies I did like] makes little girls and boys form images of themselves that aren't realistic, and that makes for troubled humans later in life.

2 things about this thread:

People aren't being offended enough. I'll see what I can do.

This seems to be the pick on women thread. I like to get in front of the curve whenever I can. For your amusement:

I think it's time we stopped coddling women and started to fear them.

First there was birth control which gave women the ability to have careers.

Then there was the cell phone. Sure, men talk on cell phones but we don't hold a candle to the way the average woman uses the airwaves. I see them on the road, multitasking like they do, controlling the flow of traffic with one hand and with the aid of the cellphone, controlling her family and friends down to the most minute detail with the cell held in the other.

They're moving up the ladder while simultaneously moving down the road. They don't need men anymore, except to change the occasional light bulb and that other thing, and they've got that figured out too.

I think in 10 or 15 years, men will be earning less than women and we'll just walk around mumbling wtf repeatedly.

I sure hope I am earning less than most women in 10 or 15 years! I don't even WANT to BE working at all in 10 or 15 years! You can mumble all you want. LOL!!
