Looks like some have never been really bad off....
I remember times when that 5th pay in the same month really saved my bacon..back in the days...
Back in the early 80s me and the former spousal unit were buying our first home during some very lean times. Those occasional extra paydays helped get a mortgage payment in on time more than once.

It is nice having those couple of months a year that you get a little extra breathing room.

Miles make such a biger impact than the # of paychecks or weeks in a month.
You are right though, I did burn through a lot of savings. My buffer in my account is gone.
I believe the linear relationship between these two statements can be expressed with a correlation coefficient. But when it comes to mixing numbers and letters, well that ain't natural and way beyond my abilities. I'll let a math head explain the correlation between miles and disappearing savings.
