Fedex and The Rate Busters!

Some of you really crack me up with suggesting one company does or doesnt care about O/O more than others.
Get a grip gang, if the company has to choose between acceptable profit levels and the
decrease of operators rates, I dont care what company you are signed on with, your
rates will be reduced. Your well being is a direct reflection of the well being of your carrier.
If they suffer so do you.
If they run poorly so will you.
We, including the carrier, are only concerned with the bottom line.
When you dont satisfy that, take action to change it, because your carrier will, which is
sound business practice.
Get your morning kisses and hugs from your partner.
Because if needed, the only kiss you will get from a carrier when business goes bad is a
kiss off.

Who you gonna serve if too many are out of work and one of the first places people cut back is eating out? I don't have the answer, strike?,naw, probably would harm more of us than help, but we do need to let those that depend on us, that something has got to change.

If you are going to quote the FedEx web site at least clarify that you are not talking FedEx Custom Critical. This is the rate changes from the site Jim posted: I do not see FedEx Custom Critical mentioned here:

FedEx Express package and freight rates will increase for U.S. and U.S. export services. FedEx Express U.S. import, FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery® rates will also increase. Minimum rates for FedEx International Priority® and FedEx International Economy® will change. There will be some changes to fees and surcharges as well.

To eliminate any confusion which there seems to be some, now might be a good time to indicate what they are doing with their rates.
If one is at the Fed and doesn't know, then it is hard to question speculation if the answer is unknown.
I know the answer already as likely a few others. But it really should come from someone that is running there.

5. FedEx requires a van 6 years old or younger, don't remember a limit for Panther.

The following is from the contractor helper and this is to sign on a van with FCC:

Required Truck Specifications
B-D Units: Not older than five model years (date of manufacture).

After you have signed on and your vehicle is older than five years you will have to have an annual inspection and if the vehicle is still sound it can stay on forever as there is no time limit.
