RE: FedEx

Weave, you say you are with All State, aren't they the ones out of Kennersville, NC? If I'm thinking right on this do you know any O/O's with them that are looking for drivers? I'd be running solo until my wife gets her CDL, she has posted our situation in another thread. Thanks.

Update...I spoke to their recruiter today for the second time. I asked him point blank if FedExCC would keep a solo busy. I mentioned to him that I have been told they seem to favor the teams over the solo.

He basicly told me that although it would be wrong of their dispatchers to do this, he didn't recommend that I run solo out of Arkansas for them. He was actually very honest and we discussed a few things even after he had basicly told me their company probably wasn't the place for me. I'm not sure why he didn't tell me this before. I think he may have thought I was wanting run team.

Imagine that...an honest, knowledgeable recruiter and I can't go to work for him...lol.

Hey Rich, do you run white glove for fedexcc or express freight?
If white glove, do you have a reefer or just a lift gate? You and your wife run team most of the time too...don't you? I should know this but I can't remember...lol. I also have heard that fedexcc doesn't do hardly any auto freight anymore, and if they do, it is paid at full rate. True/false? We have been talking to other o/o's that have signed on with them since we left (approx 3 yrs ago) and they say that like their layover policy. We spoke with a recruiter at the MATS and it sees like most of the things we disliked about fedexcc have been changed. Hope you don't mind me asking but since you have been with them for so long..lol..thru the refusal policy, TPS, and forced layovers, you are an authority on them in my opinion. lol

RE: Fed Ex CC- In Canada

Hey OVM - Happy Easter!
I don't know that FedEx CC or Panther II have a Canadian operation.
I believe (and like usual welcome corrections ;-) ) that FedEx is only US based.
FedEx Freight doesn't come up here, they interline with Day & Ross.
I think the Canadian choices are more limited, with TST being the biggest. I've ADCO vans equipped with GPS receivers running around Mississauga on their Peel Board of Education run . Maybe they get sent out of town.
TST seem to base their Canadian owner-ops in Windsor and their American owner-ops in Detroit.

Rob, FDX CC does run into Canada on a daily basis.FDX Freight may not but Custom critical does, last Monday i unloaded in Palmerton Ontario with a shipment from Sidney Ohio. Nice little trip and the Bluewater Casino in Sarnia let me walk away with $8 profit after a 2 hour stay.

RobA...DX and TST are in cohoots with each other now sharing cross-dock ops and DX does thier crappy locals that they won't do. We P/U for them and visa versa and do the Xdock thingee.

FedxCC has a reg customer behind where I live here in Stoney Creek.

I guess what I was asking is: Does Fedex or Panther have any Canadian owned vans? Do they recruit Canucks??

Vanman, they certainly must as we met some good Canadian folks last summer at the FDCC driver challenge thingy. DD
