Yes JuJu we are a Straight Truck husband and wife team. We started with Load1 on the road on Jan. 18th. We have only had about 4 days that our wheels haven't been rolling. We are much better than we had dreamed of. We are so exstatic about making the move to Load1. The owner of our truck was hesitant when we asked to make the move because he thought it may be too good to be true. He also is very happy we made the move. In fact he has two other trucks that he is looking move to Load1 now.
Everyone has been so nice to work with. Chef Dennis has made us feel very welcome to the Load1 family. So has Wombat.
We look forward to meeting everyone!

Well a belated Welcome Aboard..I'm a bit of a part timer anymore, but I do still dabble periodically. Look forward to meeting you both on my next trek out. Meanwhile...back to the quilt making and cat sitting...:)

JuJu,
You quilt? Have you ever made a quilt with photos on it?

no I haven't...the quilting club I belonged to a couple of years ago did one, but they are wonderful quilters..I've made a couple seriously good quilts, but am more prone to quilt with snuggle flannel now as everyone seems to love to snuggle with a quilt and after several washings they are very soft. Are you a quilter too? :)

I have tried. I put one together. It was supposed to be a wedding present for son and daughter in law. I bought a book that showed how to put the photos on the fabric via a printer on white fabric. I got it all put together and decided to wash it just in case before quillting it. All the photos faded away. Was very upset. Have gotten another book on it and was going to take just the photo squares out and redo it. Haven't gotten that far yet. It has been sitting now for 8 years.
I originally had planned on doing one for each of my children as they married.
But with my discouragement taking hold of me and every day life, never got that goal accomplished. Several of the 7 kids (1 child is in heaven, so yes 8 kids) are married already and now have 6 grand kids with another on the way.

I like you, procrastinated until I officially retired. One of the quilts I'm working on now is for another expected grandson in March. We now have 9 grandkids and the one on the way. My sympathies on losing a child. That has to be hard.

By the way, you now have the best job in the world for dropping in on your grandbabies, loving them up and spoiling them and then hitting the road and letting mom and dad pay the price...*LOL*

I am crocheting blankets for my new grandbabies now. I haven't figured out how to do anything else yet. I would love to learn how to make other things than blankets, crocheting. I never learned to knit at all.

I like having someone else to talk to. So yes, we just hijacked the channel. Welcome to "Crafts 101" gentlemen.

I found some southern belle patterns years ago in a craft store back in Maryland and as long as you can read them..the sc, etc they're easy to do..just time consuming. When I was working and raising the boys it took me about 6 months to finish one. I use the 14" fashion dolls for them..if you look at my avatar they are somewhat like that. And when I was out with Ken this summer I found a pattern for purses and scarves and such and crocheted some purses for the girls. Those were easy projects for the truck.

Gracie..Jack Berry's wife is a wonderful knitter...you'll know her in any parking lot because she'll be carrying around her knitting..*l*
hey..maybe we should start a crafting corner up in the Layover lounge. i do the garden corner when the season starts..I rather enjoy talking "girl" stuff with you too!:)

Morning Gents! :) Hope nobody has to drive thru the Dakota's today...snowing like a son of a gun and still coming down. This will be a test for the Ram!

And when I was getting my coffee this morning there was a whole herd of deer in the back yard..shadowy figures moving under the stark trees is such a beautiful sight.
