If he takes it to that Mercedes dealer in Novi he has to almost pass by there in a way...

If TJ hadn't been so lazy and used the supplied generator the owner would not have had all these DPF problems....

The dealer will charge an hour labor to clear the ECM. Brakes will be expensive as well. Never take it to a dealer if you can avoid it.

The unfortunate part of that is every dealership I worked at had some great mechanics. But unless you know that going in...

My dealer in Rapid City is only 82 per hour....I'd rather go where they have the proper equipment and training...and my tech clears codes for free!...

Strange lease. They usually don't require repairs at a dealership. That's messed up.

I maybe wrong Steve...remember TJ's deer strike the van was originally in Toledo at a Dodge dealer...and they messed up so badly it finally went to an MB dealer there in Columbus and has run flawlessly other then TJ messing up the DPF system...

Yeah, I remember. That dealer had the pick of sprinter techs when the MB shut Dodge out. I think Jim got an offer from them.

He still should check with Dan before he takes it to the dealer.

You have to be specific when going to MB dealer on what you want. A or B service. Never let them top off Def fluid (about $24/ liter), rotate or air up tires (about $60), top off washer fluid (about $20).

If you had a "B" service done, start the motor and check for fuel leaks at the filter. The 2 hose clamps are different sizes, but look the same when sitting in the work bench, easy for them to get mixed up. If they put the bigger one on the smaller hose, it will leak. It will also only get worse. It will also only leak while the key is on, electric fuel pump.

Make sure before you leave, everything is reset.

The dealer in Novi is pretty good. I think the techs name is Ray that worked on mine. Seemed knowledgable.

John has a Frat brother there that is the sales mgr.
