I dunno..they are still out there....fewer of them maybe but I ran into a 6 1/2 mile load for 125 bucks I think it was....and a another for like 1.75...its just luck of the draw really....then turn around and run one for .76 ......go figure this wacky business....

I was running all of the short loads here in California and the occasional 2k mile load then deadhead back home empty in 2009 and I made bank that year. I also did it in a 1500 Chevy van! I was getting 450/500 dollars a pop for Vegas runs. I also got some 20 milers for 150/250 bucks a pop. Those were the good ole days.

maybe now from a dedicated broker or direct customer....but ain't seeing that price of a bid board....

I made the mistake of taking the paid miles way..drop south out of Knoxville thru the Smokies....never again....LOL

In 2008/2009 I used to get 2000 mile runs for 2600 from the carriers/brokers. A 500 mile run would go for 750 bucks. A 1000 mile run for 1300/1500 bucks. There were no questions asked, and the majority of the loads we got were awarded to us based on our reputation of on time service, not the lowest bid. I wish things would go back to the way they were.

we are still seeing some brokers out there like that thank goodness, but they a lot more fewer and farther between...its all about the $$$$ now....they say like low bid is .70 match it or go lower...pass...

We used to beg for time to rest, Key Word Used.

Ugh why are there some people that are in so big of a hurry they will put everyone's lives in danger????

I was on a 2 lane road in Kansas, this car decided to pass me, thankfully I saw him and so did the other car, we both had to swerve, to avoid an accident.

I really wish I had a dashcam so I could post when people act stupid, although I would have to delete the audio......
