Fax Service

We have a problem sometimes needing to receive a fax. We have found that some companies have figured out how to scan and email you what you need but others are still struggling with this concept. Some friends of ours told us about https://www.efax.com/, which can be a free service, or if you get many faxes you can pay a small fee. If you will receive fewer than 20 pages a month there is no cost. You sign up for a number, which can be anywhere in, the United States and then you receive the fax via email. You then have to bring the fax up in their free software and from that point you can do anything with it. We receive faxes that need signatures on them so we can print the fax scan the fax back into the computer and use email, or you can sign and send by mail if they need the original signature. We feel that this is really going to be beneficial to us and no more fax fees!!

While talking with another driver the system he used was called myfax.com. I think that was the system he used. I wrote it down and then lost the note.

I've been using Myfax for almost two years. Originally it was called Virtual Fax, by a company called Protus. We paid the 9.95 per month for a toll free number. Just send an email with a Word doc or pdf attached.

Our problem with getting a fax is we do not receive them regularly. We can go two months without getting them and then only get two the next month. I just do not like paying 3.00 in the truck stop. If you only receive one fax a month then it has been the cheapest way was to stop at a truck stop and wait for your fax and pay the 3.00. So for those of you like us that do not need to receive a fax very often this could be the solution.

Has anyone realized how crippling new Technoligy is to our well being?

It is suppost to save us all time, time for what? Use to be Mom really made cookies from flour, now its open a plastic tube, and take the sliced dough and put it in a Microwave for home made cookies. Taste like crap by the way compared to Moms.

How many time saving devices are in your truck? Home? They all take up space correct? Now do yourself a favor, go look at any new Model Home most of these time savings devices are not in view, why cause we want the OLD COMFORTABLE feeling of a life not so rushed. But whats the first thing we do, plug in the Fax, Answering Machine, Computer, TV big enough to actually shake hands with the Reciever on the Cardinals Team.

We spend more $ trying to save us time than what the time we invested to make the $ really saved us? And than the darn thing does not work some times. GO FIGURE......

Robin and I keep the Flying J directory with us. The directory list all locations and fax numbers, When we need a fax we just look in the directory for a Flying J down the road and have the fax sent there. Now we can fuel go in the and pick up the fax. No time wasted, Works great for us!

God bless our military and vets.

If you only need to receive faxes, and only on an occasional basis, then the free version of efax is definitely the way to go. I used to use it when I needed something sent to me. You just only need to download their software, as the fax comes in a special format read only by their software. Then just print it when you have the opportunity. On the other hand, if you need faxes regularly or need to send them as well, then I would definitely recommend MyFax, as it will send and receive in common formats such as PDF, doc or picture files. Apples to apples, I think it's a little cheaper than the paid version of efax.

Efax has been THE answer for us. We love it. On a recent load to Canada, we left the shipper after they faxed everything to our broker at the border. We were on our way when dispatch called and said the broker wasn't happy with the fax transmission and we needed to stop and fax it ALL again. We were on the road in the middle of nowhere! We scanned all the pages and attached them to an email to the dispatcher and she then faxed them to the broker. I don't know what we would have done without email. The dispatcher then had to fax some of the sheets to us for signing and sending back. That's where our EFax saved the day.

The reason so many people know the solution is that they created the problem!

We also use E-Fax and have had no problems with it. We get our settlements from the owner faxed to us weekly along with all the faxing that goes on because of Canada. Being able to do that while running down the road is a time/sanity saver for us.

Well, actually you can send faxes with efax, but only on the paid version. Not sure of the cost these days. And yes, you do get a confirmation email that the fax was successful, or whether it failed. At least it does with MyFax.

That is good to know. Since we only have the free version we cannot do that. Our thoughts where if you receive the fax you can do what you need to it and then email it to the correct person or if you need to you can just print it sign and send it of using mail.

Going in and out of Canada is where I d see the benefits. The confirmation page (or lack thereof actually) can be an extremely costly thing not to have in your possession coming back in.

I use efax pro I think its 19.95 per month for a certain number of pages but they require a credit card number and after you exceed that number of pages they auto charge you sometimes twice in the same month I do alot of faxing so my bill is around $40 per month
but It works great.

It works so well that at jta thats how I let our drivers dispatch themself we all use the same fax number and it goes right to a seperate email account that the driver and I both access to download all the company set up packets rate confirmations etc.this makes it so easy for drivers to take care of bussiness on the road.you dont even need to print out faxes. just think of the trees your hugging .It saves your faxes for you for up to a year.a I dont need papers strung all over for the kids to destroy.
and our drivers are free to book loads without having to call a dispatch line.

I am glad to see post like this it just proves to me that I truely made the right choice in the company I am now with.
