All I read about now in these forums is depressing stuff. Let's talk scenery. My favorite stretch of road is the I-84 in Oregon along the Columbia river gorge. I also love the I-5 In norhern California. What's your fav stretch of road?

I like bridges for some reason. So I'm thinking of the Mackinac here in Michigan & also the Bridge/tunnel on the Chesapeake (sp??) is pretty cool. I've never been to the Golden Gate or that long one in Tampa, but those are bridges I'd like to cross.

Another stretch of road I like is the shoreline of Lake Huron going up US 23. I also like lakes/rivers/bodies of water, which I guess would go hand in hand w/ liking bridges.

Good Q & the answers should be interesting.

Take care,
Danny

My favorite is I-40 and I-26 between Knoxville and Spartanburg. I also enjoy the West Virginia Turnpike and I-68 in Maryland.

any four lane is great to me as long as there is no ice, snow, rain aand very little traffic and 70 mph speed limits helps to

Lakesilver rd, the last mile before my driveway to home!!:D

And coming in at second I26 and I77. I find myself not focusing on the road because of the beauty.

It is road ways like this that make driving for a living worth it or at least real close to worth it.

My favorites are the WV turnpike, I70 Between Denver and Grand Junction CO, and US2 between St Ignace and Manistique MI. I remember having a flat tire on US2 and it didn't even bother me. I just sat there and looked at the lake for a while, then changed the tire.

These would be my 2 favorite places to enjoy while looking out my office window.A1A in Florida.. and the stretch of I 64 in Lexington,Ky looking out at the horses with the rolling hills and the white fences and the beautiful old homes that surround these farms

Alligator Alley. I guess my ties to fishing tend to lean toward places that I just know a 7-8 lb. bass are lurking.

My favorite, although not in a truck, is the road (dont have a map in front of me to look) that goes from the U.S. border in Washington to Kelowna, BC. It's absolutely breathtaking in my opinion. No guard rails on the mountains, no run away truck ramps, just pure, almost untouched beauty. There are some really pretty mountains out there.
Also, I really enjoy I-70 from Denver to Grand Junction, and the road that winds through the mountains from Arizona into Utah. I really love it out West. I really love a lot of backroads in Michigan as well.

i drove ind 44 from i-65 to ind 37.

it is a 2 lane with twists, turns both on and off camber rises, hills and dives. a regular nurburgring of a local road. would rather have been in my tdi but the road was very entertaining.

I-26 between Asheville and Johnson City TN, and call me crazy but there is just something peaceful about I-75 on the flat in OH. Farmland I guess.....

In Canada, I like 11 once it turns west from Cochrane ON. Road can be rough as H at times but the north is just beautiful.

Yeah I hear about the I-70 stretch west of Denver but I've never been down that way. I have yet to see the Seattle WA area and that I-68 in MD and WV is beautiful but bloody if u got a heavy load. It has to be the worst concentration of steep grades in a 100 mile stretch of road, in the whole country. A Team I'm not in expediting anymore. I drive for US Xpress but will be returning to PES very soon.

I-84 Columbia River area in Oregon, 1-70 west of Denver (in good weather), US40 between I-70 and I-68 in PA, and that section of I-15 that cuts through Arizona

I liked I 15 and I 84 between Salt Lake City, Utah and Boise, Idaho. It's like you are in the middle of a western movie. Everywhere you turn you get great pics. If you like click on the link below you will see a shot of the Rockys that I took while I was out there. Just awesome! Also I liked a drive that I took from Salt Lake City to Albaqerque, NM. If you ever watched the Wiley Coyote Cartoons the rocks look just like that when you are in the four corners area. A must see is a town called "Shiprock". Scenery is just awe inspiring.

Yep, the Columbia River Gorge, and Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, and most anyplace in Montana, but especially 93, along Flathead Lake - awesome!
A nice road full of twisty turns & ups & downs (and gorgeous fall leafpeeping) is US 119 in SW Pa, to WV.:)
