Favorite skyline in driving?

Which skyline is your favorite and why? Could be mountains, plains, cityscapes or other. Y'all know the deal comment down below.


To start off my favorite is probably Chicago at night because it's amazing to see coming from little Berea Kentucky.

City wise Chicago then Pittsburg and Cincinnati all have awesome views when coming in especially Pittsburg when exiting the tunnel! However it is Pittsburg and it's the only thing I enjoy about it!

Cincinnati through the Cut of the Hill is still my favorite city skyline, but I grew up there. Pittsburgh;s skyline is pretty amazing from 2 or 3 different angles, out of the tunnel is certainly one of them. Chicago, Minneapolis, Dallas especially at night. Las Vegas is impressive, especially at night, so is Albuquerque.

Outside of cities, my favorite skylines are Monument Valley, Glacier National Park, Grand Canyon, Marble Canyon, Bryce Canyon (especially from an angle with Thor's Hammer on the skyline), the Tetons as viewed from Jackson Hole, WY, the Badlands, Mt Shasta. Bonneville Salt Flats - Great Salt Lake area, and those rolling hills are between Topeka and Wichita.

Still, my favorite skyline of all time is, of course, Skyline Chili.

Yep. Coming from the east have to stop and turn around to see it from the hill. Crossing the overpass to the Flying J is a good view. It's one of my all-time favorite night-time city views. Breathtaking.

In my travels, renting a car and driving over the Harbour Bridge with the view of Sydney Australia is unmatched.

Ah, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. Cheap toll, that one is. But it's an awesome view. I like the drive down to Key West.

And the drive across the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway north of New Orleans. At almost 24 miles, it is the longest continuous bridge over water in the world. It's a $3 toll (for 2 axles) going southbound, but there's no toll when heading north out of Merairie.

I think driving into Chattanooga is a pretty sight.

Nobody mentioned the Smokey Mountains? Lake Tahoe out west is awesome. I was crossing the Emigrant Pass on I-80 just before sunrise and decided to detour down to the lake -- amazing views as the sun came up over the Sierra Nevadas.

Weirdly enough, West Wendover, NV at night comes to mind also. After miles of driving through the nearly pitch-black desert, all those casino lights in the distance are kind of pretty.

While traveling somewhere in California, I came across a mountain sunrise that just took my breath away. I wish I could have taken a picture of it as for me it's yet to be topped. This picture is very close to what I saw, just missing some red morning sky.
