Now that 2010 is coming to a close, are there any runs you've had in the past year that are memorable & make ya smile as ya think back on em? What took place to make em special for ya?

For me it was the run from Tampa FL to Los angeles CA. We were able to stop in Tombstone AZ - absolutely fantastic day. Then on the run out of CA (can't remember where we delivered LOL) but we were able to visit The Alamo - that was indeed a humbling experience.

Being mostly local, my favs were the high paying shorties. The 7 miles for $100 type runs. I've had 7 of those since July, the best being a 12 mile/$175. There is some loading & unloading, but nothing major. Since it's not booked thru my carrier, it's something that I'm paid on that day. Another plus.

My favorite run is any that lets me drive along Flathead Lake in Idaho, or along the Columbia River.
For 'dollas!', it was a round trip between Christmas & New Year's last year, from Barstow, Ca, to Havre, Mt, & back - very rewarding. And very, VERY cold, too.

Can i choose 3 please ?

one is the run from Reno to C.A , the only time i drove the 395 .
road was closed for the night ,in the morning had to chainup ,and got help from 2 awesome swift drivers . then going down an 8mil/6% icy grade ...loved it !.those are some large trees they got there.
the other one,Coast to Coast to Coast ...Christmastimes decorations going East ,reload ,Halloween decorations going back to Seattle . got the chance to stop for the Dallas truck show along the way . had 'dinner with the Caffee's & Freinds' .and found out that no matter how mach money i offered truck dealers ,they just won't build me the truck i need LOL...
The Expedite truck had a large Jet Engine ,that was a HM load for some rezone. going from Dallas to LAX . half way along the way ,the airline redirected the Engine to Chicago ...Cool.
O'h ,one more please . had a chemical load from a mine in Wyoming to Long beach ,heavy up to gross. coming to the agriculture station in Calif. ,the guard ask me what it is that i'm hauling , "enriched plutonium" was my answer ...he looked at the bills ones more and let me go ...got to have fun along the way....hey if it's not avocado we don't care...

Most memorable run was just the other day where I snorkeled from Nashville to Elizabethtown, skated from E-town to Louisville, snowmobiled from Louisville to Indy, skied from Indy to South Bend, then finally drove the last few miles to Niles.

Favorite run was delivering to about an hour south of New Orleans. :)

I did one to Grand Isle, and a friend called to warn me about the speed trap in Golden Meadows, about 10 minutes after they got me. :(
PS I'll be doin the winter sports tomorrow: Darlington, SC to Cleveland, Oh, but I came down from Ft Wayne, it wasn't too too bad.....

One of the most memorable of the year was the eight hours I spent sharing pizza with federal agents while they cleaned out some Pakistani guy's house, confiscating knock-off handbags and watches. When they finally finished sorting, they then boxed it and loaded the evidence on my truck to be taken to storage until trial and afterwards destroyed.
