Explosion at TX BP refinery..

Just saw it on fox news. Blew the building that mixes octane boosters with gasoline to bits. 1 or more killed near 100 injured.

A problem like this effects 25-30% of the gasoline in america. Watch for higher gas prices, they will probably hike diesel too, I am not sure if the refinery can still produce diesel or not. But retailers will take advantage of it to hike ALL prices I would think.

CNN said this is about a 3% problem. Not that big a deal. You are correct that the Oil Companys will use this to there advantage. Nothing new there.

3% is a big deal...just ask the oil compamys that want to drill in the wildlife preserves in Alasks.

3% is exactly what they expect to deliver.Then they will probably sell it to Japan as they have with other Alaska production.

Memphis news (Fox13) said there was a secondary issue with one of these refineries. Should be repaired in six weeks according to their report.
Sounds like another reason to gouge the customer.
Watch for refinery problems in other regions.
What are the chances it could happen somewhere else?

Dont forget about the Oil pipeline that broke on the same day in Los Angeles spilling 200,000 gallons of crude into that fresh water reservior....that was brainstorming there!...putting that pipe across that lake!
