Experienced Trucker new to expediting

Looking for help I have a tandem axle straight truck with sleeper 22' box..was servicing a customer that is cosing in Sept.I have my own authority and insurance and was looking to see if it would be best to lease on with a carrier or is there brokers that handle expedited freight.I live in Philadelphia,Pa and do not know of any companies in this area,any help would be appreciated...Thank You

Many of the expedite carriers do have freight in your area. You would just need to be a "partner carrier" with them. Others will have better information on how to go about it, but you already have the authority and insurance in place, I would probably go that route. A lot depends on whether your financially capable of enduring the learning curve.

Of course, you could always lease to a good carrier, make decent coin and let them worry about the collection and compliance issues.

How far did you go with the customer you had? Landstar wants 6 months otr 48 states before they even consider you.

What kind of equipment on the truck? Liftgate? Do you plan on running team or solo? All that can make a difference on which carrier you chose.
