How many Miles can I look forward to as a solo in a tractor with expediting companies? I'm looking at Panther but I'd love to hear what other people get with Bolt, Tri State and other carriers. Thanks!

As ive posted many times,FECC isnt about mileage, its revenue.if i wanted to run miles id go to Forward Air,they can load you with miles, dedicated too,but I make more money one way to California than they do round trip,in a tractor for FECC

While thats a great sounding answer it is as incomplete as saying that someone grosses $200k, It is a combination of pay per mile AND miles ran.

Steve, you have to admit that is an answer that gives the rest of the story.

With the non percent carriers it is enough to just say the amount of miles.

Was not trying to be a richard.

Most solos, with the HOS rules do about 130000 miles a year,in the regular freight business.in expediting as you know are revenues are higher than the regular freight business, unless your able to put together LTL loads.Myself ,the reason I like a percentage contract,i can control my money per mile.if i'm on a flat rate, the company controls my income,as they usually control your dead head miles. It be nice if they kept you moving, but that doesnt happen very often. As you know I run team,my miles are about as much as a solo, but my revenue is much greater than a solo can make. Not many solos making in the 200000 a year numbers, not in expediting.I have some friends doing the money I do,but they are doing very specialized work, hauling cars, and over dimensional, their numbers are high.my buddy hauling cars runs a little less miles than I do,hes solo, and he almost makes the same revenue. My buddy doing over size, its not like apples to aplles any more, hes in a league of his own.there are plenty of companies right now offering 1.50 per mile, but you better have a very economical truck to do that and survive, that figure is with the fsc included

Steve, you wanna clarify that...was that all odometer miles or just loaded and deadhead? That works out to about $1.63 a mile... Maybe I am missing something here, but ..well nevermind you see where I am going with it...
