Expedite Truck with Own Authority?

Can a truck with its own authority get freight directly from Fedex CC, Conway Now, Panther II, Tri-State, etc?

If yes, how do you find out who to contact at each or is this freight on a load board somewhere?

If some of you have freight available from the Charlotte, NC area, my "E" unit tractor with a 53' air ride trailer are at your service.

Thank you,

Yes and No, the way it works in expedited freight is that you lease to one specific carrier. You can go outside of your lease and secure another load, but you will have to:

1. Go "out of service" with your carrier.
2. Cover your carriers signs on your truck.
3. Fax proof of insurance and credentials to your carriers office.

Typically, most carriers (especially with a tractor/trailer E unit) will keep you loaded. Even if they have to find a non-expedited shipment for you.

Everyone on this Forum will agree with me when I say that most carriers go out of their way to accommodate E units.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Thanks Lawrence for the come back.

But the main reason I asked this is in a couple of other threads FedEx Logistics is mentioned and that they call other carriers outside of the FedEx family of companies. Does Fedex Logistics have a broker board or an agency we can call to obtain freight through them?

It is hard for me to believe that companies like Panther II, Tri-State and Conway Now don't have a back up plan of using outside carriers instead of losing a customer due to a company O/O truck not being available to take care of the customer.

Thanks again for the reply!
