Expedite Expo 2012 Hotel Rooms

After deciding to attend this years Expo I thought maybe my fiancé would like to make it a weekend getaway, she loved the idea. After looking online for rooms at the Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express I found all rooms are booked. Closest we found was 7 miles a way and pretty pricey. Anyone know if there is a block of rooms available for EO attendees that I am unaware of. Thanks

Holiday Inn has been filled to capacity since last year. They start taking bookings in October for the expo, and are.usually full by December.

There are a few small hotels in Wilmington. We paid $52 per nite last year.

And most who stay at the Holiday Inn aren't paying for it... Advertisers and sponsors, exhibitors pay.

You can also get rooms in Xenia which is only 12 miles away.

Not that it will be of huge help, but I have a shop about 35mi from Wilmington with a parking lot that could accommodate a few expediters if anyone is interested. No shower, but two bathrooms. I'll be staying there, most likely, the nights of the Expo.

Think the thing is no one wants to drive since they usually have a couple brewskys..and that Holiday Inn really rapes the visitors on the price ...Max and Ermas is overpriced...but they know it is a corporate event and expense accounts are running wild...LOL

Speaking of expense accounts...I'll leave names out....But I was at the Expo one year at a table with 2 company owners, a head recruiter and an Ops Manager....and it was funny from a regular duffs point of view, but when the tab came up....the scuffle that pursued those guys couldn't get the plastic out fast enough...LMAO....egos and testosterone running wild to pay the bill...no one wanted to be out done...actually there is no reason a snail like person I am, to even try to compete....my pockets are deep and my arms are short....hehehe...

Plenty of rooms around Cincinnati and it's only 45 minutes away. I'll be staying in my own comfortable bed.

It would be tacky, but you could put out a collection jar to recoup your tab....LOL

yep I bring my room too.....some nice people will usually volunteer for me to use the shower in their room...FREE....if not the Pilot is right across the lot.....park far enough from the crowd but within easy walking distance from the BBQ pit...

I am a big supporter of FREE...

The Hampton inn in Wilmington had a few room's left nice hotel about 7 year's old I would guess. Free Breakfast. I stayed there 2 year's ago and was happy with it. Booked it again for this year's expo.I think the expo rate was 99.00

If ya play your card rite, usually some sponsor walks up and buys a round for all in close proxemity. They really do fight to pay the bill though. Quite entertaining. One rule for the EXPO. I'm not gonna get drunk, I'm not gonna get drunk.
